I've just bought a second hand quinny buzz 2008 model and I can't get the brakes on - how do I get them to work? Im assuming it's the red right brake to stop and grey left brake to release but can't get either of them to work. Any tips?

Good Afternoon

You are correct; The red foot pedal should apply the brakes and the grey foot pedal should release them.

Unfortunately there are no quick fixes to resolve this; due to the safety implications of the brakes not functioning correctly we would recommend the unit is returned to our engineers for inspection & repair work required.

If you're a UK customer please contact the customer service team on 01284 413 141 Mon-Fri 8.30-4.30 to book it in for chargeable inspection & repair work. Standard charge is £60 and will include courier delivery of the product back to your address. In addition you'll need to make arrangements and cover costs for the unit to be sent into our engineers with courier service.

If you're not a UK customer please visit www.quinny.com and select the country you're in then use the "Contact Us" tab to get in touch with the customer service team in your area.

I just bought a new quinny buzz but the brakes are not working?

Hi Michael

If the product is under 28 days old please return it to retailer with proof of purchase and they may offer an exchange (this is at the discretion of the retailer) If not then you would need to return it to the retailer for them to send into our engineers for inspection & repair.

You may also find the Buzz brake adjustment assists in resolving the situation for you.

Quinny brake release pedal not working

Hi

There is a page attached for adjusting Quinny Buzz brakes. Try this and see whether it resolves the issue.

If it doesn't resolve the issue, the next step is inspection of the unit. If it's under 2 years old and you're in the UK, please contact your retailer with proof of purchase for them to arrange inspection under warranty terms and conditions.
If it's over 2 years old or you no longer have proof of purchase please contact the customer care team on 01284 413 141 Mon-Thur 8.30-6.30 / Fri 8.30-4.30 (Excluding Bank Holidays)
If you're not in the UK please visit www.quinny.com and select the country you're in, then choose the "Contact Us" tab for your enquiry to be sent to the customer care team for your country. 3_23_2013_9_05_40_pm.jpg

Quinny buzz brakes arent working

Hi

The Quinny Buzz brakes can be adjusted (and should be periodically as part of the ongoing maintenance of the product to ensure good performance)

The brakes may require periodic adjustment. To do this, use two 8mm spanners to unlock the lock nut from the long barrel nut. Adjust the brake cable and retighten the lock nut. Test the brakes to ensure a positive engagement and disengagement after adjustment.

2009 or 2008 quinny buzz model ?

I don't think you're being advised correctly. My Buzz 3 is the 2008 model, which according to Dorel when I contacted them about something else was the first model that included the extra XL seat fabric, and mine has the clip style chassis lock on the side of the frame. The cord style chassis lock is a much older model - perhaps 2006 or 2007, definitely not the newer 2008 or 2009 models. Someone could be selling an older style chassis with the newer coloured fabrics because I think storm might well be a 2009 colour. Mine was originally Charcoal/Black but I have bought new seat fabrics etc and it is now Strawberry red which were both 2008 colours. Hope this helps.

What is the difference between the 2009 vs 2008 quinny buzz 3??

Buzz 3 2009 improvements
  • Front wheel: rotates better due to ball bearings
  • Rear wheel: fitted with ball bearings; easy to mount
  • Suspension; now made of rubber instead of steel, offers more comfort.
  • Push bar: new fabric
  • Bumper bar: new fabric
  • Central sliding hing: offers more stability
  • Brake: easy-to-operate brake pedal, audible click when locked
General note: All screw connections are coated with environmentally friendly powder glue to guarantee a consistent, reliable and stable connection

Does the quinny buzz seat 2006 and carrycot fit the 2008/9 frame

Hi new frame should be ok, the only frame that is different is the older 2005 frame, if you remove your seat unit and check the posts on your seat unit (the bits that slot onto the buzz chassis) if they are both the same and have rounded ends then this is the older model and wont fit the newer frames, but if one of the posts is rounded and the other is shaped like a turret then all the frames 2006 onwards will be ok. :)

Quinny buzz

Tyres-press the light grey button on the chassis next to the wheel slot as you push on the wheel (this is also the button you press to release each wheel).
Opening it is easy - With Buzzwheels on the ground, remove safety hook (plastic loop on left side of handle fixed to peg inner left rear wheel) ten simple lift handle and Buzz frame should automatically pop up.
Closing takes more practice-put on brakes (press red foot pedal) stand to side of chassis and at bottom end of handle there are two large grey buttons. With left hand on left button push button forwards (ie direction of chevrons on button) then press in. At the same time push in right button with right hand. Whilst doing this you also need to push down and forad on frame and it should fold down. If you don't push buttons enough it can click. When folded remember to put on safety hook before transit, otherwise it might pop up on its own. Hope this helps. You can download the manual with instructions from Quinny website too if pictures are helpful!
