The camera won't take a picture and turn itself off or you will get a message on the LCD screen telling you the battery is low or to change the power pack.

You can try a new battery or make sure the older one is getting charged by the camera. Remember the camera needs to be in the "OFF" position when you try to charge it.
Look at your memory card. SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.
