It sounds like the Low side circuit of your carburetor needs a small adjustment. If you can, turn the L screw (the screw in the carb body closest to the engine) out 1/8 to 1/4 of a turn. I will include a carburetor tune tutorial so you can understand more. This usually cures the acceleration issue IF the carburetor is not in need of new diaphragms.

I use an automotive type wire connector tapped onto the head of the L or H screw in the carb to grip it to facilitate adjustment. The plastic ends on the wire connector can be forced over the screw head and grip it. A ring-type terminal connector works well as you can grasp the ring and turn the screw once the plastic crimping end is on the screw head.
The high-speed carb jet may be fouled. Most 2-cycle carburetors have two adjustable jets, one for idle, another for higher speeds and loads.
