Most likely a different muffler is available for easy bolt-on solution. Best way to check is to find model and type of engine and check with engine distributor in your area or the web. Engine model is usually found on the starter/fan cover or the block. The problem is the limited space within the frame of the generator. Other solution is to contact a small engine service center for modification. There are several sources for quiet mufflers, however takes creative installation. Take a look at other generators with very quiet mufflers for ideas (different types of machine may use the same engine so take notice how other types lawn equipment /tools deal with noise ). Some generators are made for camping or use in quiet zones and use other methods for quieting the unit. Still other generators are noisy even with large mufflers. Good luck with your project.

SOURCE: my coleman 1850 is to loud

Ya, buy a Honda quiet generator, they have a db of about 58, which is very good compared to the other brands. You won't regret it!

Have 07 xl1200c sportster how can i make exhaust louder have standard pipes on dont want it to loud just more of a deep thud money tight dont want to keep with original pipes for now

Screamin Eagle mufflers work well. I've been running a set on a Dyna Wide Glide for years. They're not as loud as straight pipes. They come with removable baffles, I think. It's been years since I've mess with them but they used to. Also, some pipe manufacturers made "slip on" muffler replacements. They're much better for performance too as they present the engine with a bit of backpressure that the drag pipes do not.

Good luck

02 f250 7.3 i have loud hissing noise when its cold then get better when it warms up

If you have more than 100,000 miles on the truck, it sounds as if your muffler is getting wore out. That is if the noise you hear is coming from the exhaust pipe.

Loud & smoky smell

could be open at the top of the muffler .......or may be a flange connection between the headers and the intermediate pipe or the connection along the seam or to the muffler

you will need a light and with the vehicle running {{Visually Inspect}} for smoke or louder noise to seclude the area /s of this issue .

03 expedition used to stall after driving for an hour, now muffler is loud and it does not stall anymore

Sounds like your muffler and/or catalitic converter are plugged. maybe even the tailpipe.backed into any dirtbanks? now that the muffler is leaking the engine can exhale. look it over, check it out closely I think you'll find your problem.

Loud engine or Muffler

hi. if the muffler is truly cracked, it will release a loud, unfiltered, noise during acceleration and idling as well. it will rattle as well. i recommend replacing the muffler ASAP.

Concerning the fill up at 7-11, there may have been a high water content that was in this gas stations tank and, this was transferred to your tank during the filling. the Lucas treatment will remove the water out of the tank and correct any damage that may have occurred,if any..

Muffler is loud and rattles due to debris and possible hole

either live with it or get out a saw and cut it out and weld in a new exhaust muffler. or you might get the measurements and get one to fit where you cut out the old one from your parts store.. make sure you measure your pipe and get a muffler that will fit over the pipe .. You will need clamps for the muffler also.. thanks and holler if you need more Jerry
