1024 bytes = 1KB (kilobyte)
1024 kb = 1MB (megabyte)
1024 mb = 1 GB (gigabyte)
1024 gb = 1 TB (terabyte)
1024 tb = 1 PB (petabyte)
1024 pb = 1 Exabyte

8 bits = 1 byte

you'll notice a lot of this stuff works in powers of 8, like computer memory....8MB, 16MB, 32MB, 64MB,128MB, 256MB, 512MB, 1GB

There is no such thing as an igiabyte. 1024bytes=1kilobyte 1024kilobytes=1megabyte 1024megabytes-1gigabyte 1024gigabytes=1terabyte 1023terabytes=1petabyte
The Petabyte is the largest digital unit at the moment.

  • Anonymous May 03, 2011

actually there is larger than a Petabyte.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yottabyte and zetabyte and exabyte.

I have 11000 have all Hoop sizes when I buy designs 6x10 or larger I can not get on card ,exceeds stitches Liz Croft

The Memory Cards in these models are limited in their capacity to hold a stitch file. Newer models use a USB port that can keep a larger file on a jump drive.
Think of it as a Computer with a Needle and note the capacity of your memory card vs. the file size of the design in mb. remembering that 1 Kilobyte (Kb) equals 1,000 Megabytes (Mb).
Hope this helps!

I am trying to upgrade one of my apps but when I try it tells me that I do not have enough space. I've deleted pics and messages plus 2 apps but it still says I don't have enough space. What can I do?

Pictures and messages are very small in size, mostly Kilobytes. You need to delete bigger apps that are using either Megabytes, or Gigabytes. Apps and games can be anywhere from 1mb to 2-5GB. So if you have downloaded apps from whatever app store you use, I'd start there. Also most phones come with a lot of bloatware, which are useless apps that come with the phone and can't be uninstalled, but if you root your phone, and use an app like Titanium Backup you can remove those apps and free up space.

How many kilobytes are in one terabyte?

1024 bytes = 1 kilobyte
1024 kilobytes = 1 megabyte
1024 megabytes = 1 gigabyte
1024 gigabytes = 1 terabyte

1024^4 = 1,099,511,627,776 (approximately 1 trillion bytes)

17,179,869,184 .......... bits
2,147,483,648 .......... bytes
2,097,152 .......... kilobytes
2,048 .......... megabytes
2 .......... gigabytes
0.001953125 terabytes
0.0000019073 petabytes
0.0000000018 exabytes

gracias

Nokia N81 Phone memory problems.

To start, please note 34KB isn't much space at all. That phone has a minimum of 12 megabytes and a maximum of 8 gigabtyes depending on when you got your phone.

But just for size comparison, 34 kilobytes = 0.033203125 megabytes so you have plenty of space, those kilobytes mean nothing.

I don't personally own a Nokia phone, but from what I hear, all of their phones have software on them called Lifeblog, it stores all of your photos taken, and all of the calls you have made on your phone and arranges them in a time line, this ends up taking up a lot of space and is a cause for many of the memory related problems.

Possible Solutions:
First:
Backup anything you want to keep with Nokia PC Suite
Then:
Reset your phone to factory default by either typing *#7370#
OR
Holding down 3 * green whilst switching it on.

Be wary when restoring any backup you have, being this will restore anything that your Lifeblog contains, reverting the problem.

And a final solution
Download "Y" browser here
Install it on your phone via your Nokia PC Suite.
Launch the YBrowser application (probably from new folder called DrJukka.com):
Locate the C: drive and open it:
Locate the Data folder:
Locate the Lifeblog folder:
Select Options, File and then Delete
Once the folder is deleted launch Lifeblog and select Update Timeline.

Hope one if not all of these helped =)

Capactiy of external hardrive

That's normal. Storage manufacturers consider 1 GB at 1 billion bytes (1,000,000,000 bytes).

Computers, however, use base-2 arithmetic, and one kilobyte is 1024 bytes, one megabyte is 1024 kilobytes, and one gigabyte is 1024 megabytes. This all multiples to 1 gigabyte according to the computer is 1024^3 or 1,073,741,824 bytes.

Take 320,000,000,000 and divide it by 1,073,741,824 and you get 298.023223876953125, so your computer says your "320GB" drive is 298GB.

There's a standard for base-2 (binary) measurement terminology (gibibytes, mebibytes, kibibytes, etc), but few people seem to use it.
