the issue you are having is DPI related, when data is sent to the printer and rendered it is dot for dot, so a Z4M 203dpi printer has about 800dots on the printhead where your printer has about 1200dots on the printhead. so when your software prints to dot800 thinking it is the edge of the label it is infact at 60%. there sould be an option in the software to configure around this. if not the is an option in the printer to convert DPI setting ie 150>300 or 100>200 and so on. but i don't thing you can make a 300dpi print as 203dpi

What kind of serial cable are you using? Null modem? Also you could try a lower speed

I think you will also need to change the settings in the menu. Hold the l/h arrow key when powering on to access the menu. then change to correct p/h.

I have seen that some label manufacturers have used inconsistent backing material on their label rolls. The opacity of the backing material was dramatically different in various sections of the roll. Because of this the label sensor cannot read the gap as well, and it spits out blank labels until it can detect the label gap again (or it issues the message "Paper out"...

START
SETTINGS
PRINTER/FAXES
in the pop up window go to
FILE/SERVER PROPERTIES
DRIVERS
SELECT THE MFC5440 DRIVER AND REMOVE
SELEST THE LP 2844 DRIVER AND REMOVE
Now go to www.seagullscientific.com and download the Zebra driver pack, once downloaded run it and install the Zebra Lp2844 to with the USb port.
This should solve the problem, if not please come back.
