Hello The Sled Motor is defective. this is the motor, whic spins the disc as it has been loaded properly. If the loader mechanism loads the disc properly into place and if the catch up magnet catches the disc in place, and still the dis do not spins, replace the sled motor. OK.
If the units under warranty you may want to contact Toshiba as it sounds your unit is in need of a replacement laser assembly.
If the unit isnt under warranty, Toshiba should be able to supply the parts you need and as long as you mark every thing that you remove, as to know where it goes when re-assembling the unit. The lasers arent difficult to replace. Good luck.
Most portable dvd players will not read burned dvd/cds. Please be sure to use originals in your dvd player. If you have a user's manual it should tell you if your player reads CDR's or DVD/RWs
Yep sone of a gun ! With the Toshiba Portable DVD Player, hold the "Mode button" down for several seconds and it will make a chain saw noise take your finger off, hit it again once and bingo now it works. I was ready to throw this player in the trash!
