This error is when you try to use OEM recovery disks with a non OEM hard drive. The company recovery disks will not work, they do this to prevent software fraud. Sorry to say you will have to purchase a copy of windows and start over :(

The built in recovery disk is not actually a disk but a partition on the old disk. Your best course of action would be to remove your old HDD, put in the new one, and then install Windows and your system drivers from the CD's that came with the system.

Error 0x400110020000100A after hard drive replacement

One of your self-created disks may have an error. I recommend that you contact the manufacturer of your computer to obtain system reload/restore disks directly from them. Often, depending on manufacturer, these are free or very low cost, such as cost+shipping ~$15-$25.

MY COMPAQ PRESARIO WHEN TRYING TO RECOVERY STUCK AT 26%

I've seen this happen multiple times when a hard drive is failing and getting frequent I/O errors. Unfortunately, the fix is to replace the hard drive and restore the system from DVD or CD recovery media.

Hopefully, you created recovery disks and stored them away for a rainy day such as this. If not, you can usually purchase recovery disks from the manufacturer for a (hopefully) reasonable price.

Disk boot failure on compaq presario S7300CL

Hi friend,

The message, "Disk boot failure" often means that the OS is corrupt and needs to be re installed. Try restarting the computer twice or thrice and check whether you can log in to the system. If the same error displays again then you have to re install the OS. But re installing the OS leads to data loss from the hard disk. So at such kind of situations you need a data recovery software to recover your data back. Yodot Hard Drive Recovery is a wonderful data recovery software which performs recovery after disk boot failure.

I have samsung notebook n210, which hard disk crashed. Company send me a new dark disk without any os. Window7 starter was in my previous hard disk was preloaded by company. now if I install recovery...

Your recovery software was supposed to work with a recovery partition that was on your old drive. But when your original drive went belly up your recovery partition went with it also. So all you can do at this juncture is use a regular OS disk to reload your device and add any drivers afterwards.

I get an error message that says there is a problem on the hard drive an says i should take backup since the problem will be inniminent and happen soon. And i have vista on it, and have installed it...

Hi,

Unfortunately you have a hard drive fault, it says this because the hard drive is not being read properly.

This will need to be replaced with a new hard. You can get all the information off it but you will need to buy a USB to SATA cable and once you have fitted the new hard and you have your laptop up an running then you can transfer the files to the new hard drive.

Thanks

Computer asks for recovery disk

recovery disk for the model you're looking for is already installed within the hard drive, you can burn the disks out straight from the hard drive. the catch is, you can only do it once. so if you've already burned the recovery disks to CDs (or worse, if this computer belonged to someone else) you won't have access to the recovery disks anymore...

NEED SYSTEM RECOVERY DISK FOR COMPAQ PRESARIO 5070

it might be on the hard drive already..

try this:
1. Click Start 2. Click Run 3. In the "Open" box type C:\CPQS\QUICKSR\FRESTORE.EXE

if you can't get the start button, at least you can boot from some other disk and try the above listed program from the DOS screen.

Can not setup windows xp sp3 sata on hp compaq presario v6700

Ok, the problem here is that the Windows XP CD that you have does not have the proper SATA drivers on it already. There are two ways to get around this:

1. Locate the drivers for your SATA controller from HP's website. Copy them to a floppy disk (old 3.5" style) and install the drivers during the installation. When booting up the XP CD, one of the first things it says is "Press F6 to install 3rd party RAID or device drivers". This is where you would press F6. During the install, it would ask you to provide the hard drive controller drivers. Windows XP only allows for these drivers to be installed from a floppy disk, so if your computer doesn't already have a floppy drive, you'll need to get an external USB drive. Once you give XP setup the correct drivers, it can find the hard drive and continue with the installation.

2. Create a custom XP installation CD with the new drivers on it. On another computer with internet, CD-burning capability, and a lot of time and effort, you can slipstream the SATA drivers into the XP CD that you have now. This is not a process for novice users, and can be very time consuming. For a single installation, you're better off with the floppy drive option.

In order to find the correct SATA drivers for your computer, we'll need to know the exact make and model of your computer. The Presario v6700 is a series, there are many models inside of that series. They most likely use the same driver for SATA, but it'd be nice to know exactly which model you have. THis should be printed on the bottom of the laptop.

Hard disk data recovery

In effect the reading head is almost for sure damaged and there is no easy DIY way to recovery data at home.
If the content is really important you can send it to a company who does data recovery. Service is expensive and probably it is going to cost over $1000, furthermore they do not guarantee success.
This company does hard disk data recovery
Alternatively you can ask to a local repair shop to take a chance , get an Hard disk of same model and replace the disk. I warn you that chance of success working in this last way are very scarce and there is good possibilities that you lose your data forever
