Hi, i also have a conia plasma (and sony 510 amp). Which video connection are you using? DVI-VGA? DVI-component? Note that the tv probably defaults to using YPBR rather than VGA so you may need to play with settings in the menu ...

I connected my Mid 2009 Macbook Pro to my Sanyo DP42746 Sanyo with a minidisplay port to HDMI adaptor. My Macbook doesn't support sound through the minidisplay port. The TV owner's manual suggests...

It may have something to do with the settings under audio output devices. See if you have options, and ensure that the headphone jack (I assume that's what you're using) is set as the default sound device.

Need the driver for dlp projetor at-x51 macbook

Hi, You shouldn't need any drivers, it's a standard projector.
Connect the whole lot together then turn on the projector then turn on the Mac. if that doesn't work try it the other way around.
So far I have not had any problem with projectors (of any make) but there are times when the Mac doesn't recognise one at the first attempt.

Keys not working

First off, you need to determine whether the keys themselves are faulty, or whether you just have your system set up to ignore them.
Go to Apple Menu / System Preferences / Language & Text (this is on Snow Leopard, on Leopard I believe you have to look under International). Turn on "Keyboard and Character Viewer" and "Show input menu in menu bar." Now on the Menu bar, you will see an icon of a box with an asterisk in it. Choose "Show keyboard viewer." Now type the arrow keys and see if they blink on the keyboard viewer. If they do, there is nothing wrong with your keyboard; you just have somehow set those keys to have no effect (and figuring that out is another issue). If they do not blink, you have a hardware problem in your keyboard that will require keyboard replacement.
Services like laptopkey.com will NOT help you, as they sell only key CAPS, and the problem is in your key electronics.
A MacBook Pro keyboard is NOT a user-replaceable part.

Dell projector, Mac book Pro display problem

Hi smithmollie,

There should be a "displays" icon 67f8081.png in the top right portion of the menu bar where you can change the display mode to "Mirror Display" whenever you connect the projector.

If it's not there go to "System Preferences" > "Displays" > "Display" tab and put a checkmark next to "Show displays in menu bar".

Also you can go to "System Preferences" > "Displays" and leave it open while connecting the projector and change the settings to "Mirror Display" there.

Best regards,

Thomas

How can i watch a dvd from my mac book pro through an hd tv ,

Open up System Preferences in the Apple menu, then go to "Display".

Make sure the monitor is connected, and click the "arrangement" tab. Check "mirror displays" OR drag the menu bar (white bar at the top of one of the monitor representations) from your laptop screen image to the desktop screen image.

Macbook pro + IBM m4000

Depends on the connections you have on both. Most MacBook Pros have a DVI connector on the side. If the IBM projector takes that sort of input, then all you need is that cable.
If the IBM projector has a VGA input, then you'll need an adaptor from DVI to VGA.
(VGA input is standard monitor looking connector.)

Typically, to adjust the font size within a browser, you would press command and the "+" plus key to increase the font size within the browser. You can also access it through the top menu bar by going to "View" then down to "Text Size" and doing that until you're satisfied.

MacBook wont run from battery

Apple does have a battery recall/fixing procedure on certain macbooks and macbook pros.

The battery of a MacBook or MacBook Pro computer may:
  • Appear to have no charge (zero percent)
  • Be unable to power the computer by itself; the computer might work only when it is connected to the MagSafe power adaptor, which only shows a green LED
  • Appear with a black "X" icon on the menu bar

  1. Shut down, then remove and reinstall the battery. Test for the issue(s) again.
  2. Connect the MagSafe power adaptor (if you haven't already) and see if the behavior continues.
  3. If the issue(s) persist, download and install the Mac OS X 10.4.9 Update.
  4. If the issue(s) persist, Download and install Battery Update 1.2.
If, after installing the Mac OS X 10.4.9 Update and Battery Update 1.2, a black "X" still appears in the menu bar, contact apple by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE (1-800-692-7753)
