After installing webroot comp applications does not work

There might be a conflict

Background b> Many personal computers connected to the Internet will more than likely eventually become infected with spyware, malware, viruses or Trojan horses. Such programs spread via spam, bad links or freeware. Once they invade your computer, they can do anything they want, such as disabling your antivirus software, tracking your keystrokes and deleting files. b> About McAfee and Webroot b> McAfee and Webroot are some of the most popular computer security programs. Both companies have features on their programs, such as firewalls and live scans, which prevent future infections. Computer owners, however, should never run two programs since they cause each other to crash. Only one antivirus program should be on a computer at once. b> Spyware Prevention b> Along with using computer security programs, computer owners can prevent infections by browsing the Internet with caution. They should avoid file sharing and ad-laden websites since such websites often harbor spyware. They should also avoid downloading anything without researching it beforehand use as safe a Web browser as possible. If you right click in the bottom toolbar select task manager under processes and the applications tabs you will see what is running and ticking over if you see something running that should not be select end now or even uninstall it or disable it Hope this helps

How to remove win32/mebroot?

Hi there,
Well this Win32/mebroot is a trojan and you need a trojan killer to remove this. you can remove this by two ways -
1. Online - means when your computer runs the operating system and you can install the trojan killer and search for the trojan.
2. Offline - in this you don't need to start the operating system of your computer, you just need the offline CD of a trojan killer that starts automitally before windows start and then you just make a search for the trojan.
Please follow the below link to get your trojan killer -

What's trojan horse .I found that name in after my scan.

The Trojan is a type of virus. You know, like the Trojan Horse legend ... the Greeks sheltered in a huge wooden horse presented as a gift to the people of the city they were trying to conquer and when the people of the city brought the horse in, the greeks killed them all. The same idea is with this Trojan virus. It hides in an suspicious program and when you run that program it starts to do some damage.

Pop ups and trojan horse

You could try installing www.spybot.com although this may not be possible without admin rights (you wont have permission to install the app)

The other thing you could do is boot in safemode (F8 at the start) and see can you install it now.

If its XP you could try do a system restore back to a point when your laptop was working. Then install spybot

Finally you could make a dos virus scan disk from your antivirus ofware and let it scan windows and your drive before the trojan is started.

It can be tricky to remove, but if you tell me the name of the trojan there maybe an application/utilitie to remove that specific virus.

Hope this helps!
