I have a model 11, but I believe they are the same. The end at he outlet of the pump actually has tabs on it. Just twist and pull. Make sure the tabs are ligned up with the slots before you pull too hard.

Mildew smell, gray streaks, won't drain, puddles on floor, burnt motor smell

I have had various issues with my fisher paykel top loader (GWL10US) and didn't realize they were all due to a plugged drain. I had mildew smell from excess water that never drained, gray streaks on clothes from dirt and residue that remained in tub, water left in tub and wet clothes after spin cycle, puddles on floor, and finally it wouldn't drain at all and the motor smelled hot/burned out.

This was all caused by a sock that got in between the outer/inner tub and went to the lowest part of the drain and finally blocked things so a leak was created and water dripped into the motor and caused a burn out.

To repair, bail water out of washer and unplug the washer. Tip machine back so you can see the motor/white plastic housing unit (pump) on bottom of washer. Where this unit attaches to the bottom of the washer, look for a clip/tab that you can pull with your finger (like a childproof cap) and twist the unit off the machine and unplug the connectors (there are 2). Once this unit is removed, you will see a quarter-sized hole into the bottom of the wash tub. this is where i found the elusive SOCK and pulled it through the hole.

When you order the "pump" it comes as one unit--motor and white plastic--and you twist it back onto the machine and plug in the connectors.

Fisher & Paykel GW611 Excellence does not pump water out. All lights are on and when it is suppose to pump, you can hear the noise, but no water coming out of the hose!

It sounds like the drain pump or the diverter valve is restricted. Check to make sure that the drain hose is clear then disconnect power and lay the machine's front on a padded surface to access the drain pump and the diverter valve at the bottom of the tub. Remove the pump's inlet and outlet hoses then check and clear from any debris that may prevent water from draining out. Check the impeller for any damage or restriction.

Check the diverter valve for the same condition as the pump described above. T
he diverter valve is where the drain pump and the recirculation pump inlet hoses are attached from. Make sure the valve is in the drain position while the drain pump is working. Replace the drain pump and/or the diverter valve if deemed necessary.

Water is not pumping out of my fisher and paykel top loader

Hi
If the washer is not draining then it is due to a clogged drain pump or a drain filter or a kinked drain hose. To resolve the issue you'll need to clean the drain hose, inspect if the drain hose is plugged. If the hose is fine, then remove the front kick panel and access the drain pump and filter, if you are unable to find the pump and filter remove the back panel as well and trace the drain hose to the bottom of the tub. There is a drain filter connected with the drain pump. It usually gets clogged, and needs to be cleaned every 6-8 months or so. The drain filter is a small white filter connected to drain pump with a hose. If it still doesn't work then you'll need to check the connections of the drain pump, check the electrical connections with a multimeter. If it still doesn't work then you would need to replace the drain pump. Please revert for any further assistance.
Hope this helps...

I've got Fisher and Paykel Excellence Top loader 7.5 My problem is, it won't unload or drain water. What do i have to do?

Hi, The washer wont unload or drain water until the drain pump is working. Get the pump off and look for debris. To remove the pump you unlock the tab and twist the pump a hair. The pump is on the bottom of tub.

My washing machine stops mid cycle

issue where washer stops and water won't drain might mean something is in drain area.

look at my issue "eco smart won't drain, smells hot" and see about the sock. I found one of my husband's socks so far down in the tub bottom that I couldn't see it when I looked between plastic outer liner and wash tub. Had to remove black motor/white housing on bottom of machine--which i had to replace cause it burned out. That is when I saw the sock and pulled it out through a quarter-sized hole.

Fisher and Paykel Washer Leaking

For those with water on floor after wash, check my post on "eco smart won't drain, smells hot". It could be something clogging drainage area at very bottom of the tub. I couldn't see the sock that was stuck in my FP's drain when I looked from the top between the white outer tub and the wash tub--everything looked fine. Then I removed the black motor/white plastic housing piece--Tip back washer and you should see this black electric motor/white housing on bottom. see my post for how to remove and check for plugged drain. it's really pretty easy.

don't know about outer tub holes, but glad i don't have that problem.

i hate my fisher paykel washer/dryer. i can't wait to sell this house--i will leave them here and get a new front load Duette for my next house!

Fisher & Paykel GWL10 US won't spin

If the machine still has water in it, the drain pump is jammed or there may be an obstrution in one of the hoses. It is most likely the drain pump. Switch off the machine at the wall and unplug it. Tilt machine against a wall and look underneath. On the right you will see the drain pump. It looks upside down. Unplug the wiring harness to the pump and remove pump by turning it clockwise while at the same time releasing the little white clip that holds the pump in place. Clean thoroughly and replace pump.
