SOURCE: Hoover z400 clogged

There should be a bottom plate covering the brush roll that you can remove, if you can't dig out the what is in there, try using your hose and suck it out from the bottom, maybe you will be able to get it out.

SOURCE: Water leaking out bottom with hose attached

The water hose plugs into the solution valve-pressure on the side of the noozle(bottom). There may be a water line that has come loose there, you will have to take the top off to get to it.

Model 116 hose clog?
Posted by rfrazelle on Jun 23, 2008
My old canister model 116 followed with numbers 2839580 marked Kenmore 3.9 with power-mate, worked fine until the bag got overly full. I have changed the bag, cleaned the filter, and removed a nasty hair/fur/dust clog :-p from the lower metal tube of the power mate. It now has very weak suction and won't pick up anything. I suspect a clog in the grey plastic flexible tubing attached to the canister but cannot get it apart. Advice?
RJ

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Kenmore 22313 Bagged Canister Vacuum. The best way to find a clog in an electric hose is to use a steel ball or a large marble to place inside the hose and to let it so threw as far as it can to determine where the hose clog is. Once you have determined where the hose clog is then you can use a small end of a broom handle of take an old wire coat hanger and place a hook on the end and try to pull the clog out of the electric hose – the electric hose is very expensive so try not to damage the hose in any way, shape or form. Or another way is that id you have another canister vacuum you can try to pull the clog apart by using two vacuums turned on and running. If you are successful then run the round marble or steel ball thru the hose again and the clog should be cleared.

SOURCE: electrolux canister special edition problem

If this canister has a "bag full" light and auto shutoff, there is an internal diaphragm switch controlled by a dial on top of the vac. Set the dial for medium setting. Install a fresh bag and test again.
There is a pinhole in the throat of the vac which allows air to flow through a tube to the diaphragm. Check to see that it is not blocked with a grain of sand. There is a second pin hole in the corner of the bag chamber check there as well for blockage. If this vac is less than 20 years old the control valve for the diaphragm often cracks and needs to be replaced. You would access it by peeling ( like a banana) the soft rubber bumpers off the side of the vac and sliding the locking keys underneath the bumper out the front end of the vac when the bag door is open. Then gently popping the housing apart from FRONT to back. DO NOT try to pry the back housing off. Caution, this is normally performed on a cradle in a repair shop designed to hold all the components in place

Where can I find a manual for the Electrolux PowerPlus Z4471 cylinder vacuum cleaner?

You may be able to find a manual for your Electrolux PowerPlus Z4471 cylinder vacuum cleaner online or by contacting Electrolux directly. Here are a few suggestions for finding a manual:
  1. Search online for the make and model of your vacuum, along with the word "manual." You may be able to find a downloadable PDF of the manual or purchase a physical copy from a third-party seller.
  2. Check the manufacturer's website. Many manufacturers make manuals available for download or purchase on their websites.
  3. Contact the manufacturer directly. You may be able to request a copy of the manual from the manufacturer's customer service department.

It will not pick up the water. Help !!!!!

Problem #1 - My Steamvac is not Sucking!
If your Hoover Steamvac was working properly and suddenly it is not sucking any water, nine times out of ten, the culprit is the lid on the lower recovery tank. The lid on the lower tank (or dirty water tank) needs to hinge at the front and snap down at the back in order to creat a proper seal. If the lid snaps on but is not locked on at the front, you will not get any suction. Simply take the lid off, and ensure that when you put it back on, it must hinge on the front tabs of the tank.
Problem #2 - My Steamvac is still not Sucking!
Right now you are thinking that you shouldn't have let your brother borrow your Steamvac. And you are right, because he used the hose attachment and returned it with the hose still attached to the front of the tank (some models only). Now when you try to use it there isn't any suction. In this case, you are missing your tank duct. On models where the stair/upholstery hose attaches to the front of the recovery tank, one must remove a square plastic piece in order to attach the hose. This square plastic tank duct must be replaced before the Steamvac will operate properly in the upright position. hope this helps ive copied it

How to put on attachments

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

DC14 includes a Stair tool, Dusting brush and a Crevice tool. These are push-fit parts and will attach either to the end of the wand when additional reach is needed, or into the hose cuff for cleaning in confined spaces.

I have a Hoover V Steam Vac model F7412. The tank for the clean water and cleaner fluid leaked out the bottom. I purchased a new tank but something in that area is still leaking. I know it is not the...

My clean solution tank is leaking from the bottom, too. It is not a hose or a valve. The clean solution tank is leaking in-between the clear plastic walls of the solution tank & the grey plastic bottom that are connected, together. I was thinking of caulking it all around the bottom where the clear plastic sides join the grey bottom plastic. I can't get into ordering a new one (spending $) unless Hoover will send me a new one for free. Purchased at Kohl's in Massapequa, NY in June 2008. There's a one year warrantee AND the directions say to EMPTY the solution tank after each use. Which I normally do because the tank runs dry.

Remove handle from hose electrolux

You don't have to "remove" the handle from the hose to attach other attachments, just depress the tab at the end of the hose and pull the upper wand loose then use the "adapter" to use the dusting brush or simply snap the crevice tool in place to use. If the handle won't come loose from the upper wand, then the described "tab" needs replaced as it's locking up the parts. Hope that helps!

Hoover steam vac hose is broken

This applies to Hoover SteamVac model F5899-910.

My unit had a broken hose. I repaired the hose using duct tape and Teflon tape. The breakage seems to be due to a manufacturing error or design defect. The hose is clamped to the unit where it passes to the inside. The position of the clamp did not allow enough slack when the handle is released and the unit is wide open.

The hose coupling has a plastic latch that holds it onto the vacuum nipple. Pry it and remove the coupling. Then trim the ragged end of the hose and clean things up. Wrap the hose with some teflon tape and then tape the hose to the coupling with several turns of duct tape. Attach the hose coupling back onto the vacuum nipple.

Now you should move the clamp say an inch, so that it leaves more slack. Take the two screws out of the clamp and pry out the plastic bracket/cover that holds the clamp in place. Then move the clamp and screw the clamp back onto the bracket/cover. Then snap the bracket/cover back in place.

Take care not to put too much slack in the hose (by moving the clamp too far), as the hose can also bunch up due to being too crowded when the handle is upright.

Inspect the hose and the tape whenever you use it.

I NEED A TELESCOPIC HOSE FOR MY PHILIPS EXPRESSION HOOVER, WHERE CAN I GET THIS MY HOSE PIPE IS BROKEN AND I HAVE TRIED TO GET A NEW ONE AT VARIOUS SHOPS HERE IN IRELAND AND I CANT.

Hi - greetings from Scotland! Im not sure if you mean telescopic hose = do you mean telescopic metal tubes? If so they are readily available on ebay.co.uk I buy from many sellers on there but Hoovermania are one of the best.
What you need to do before order is to measure one of the smaller cleaning tools at the opening with a ruler where you'd usually put the hose. If you haven't got one to hand measure the end part of the plastic handle where the hose is where you'd usually attach the pipes. Generally if it measures 3.5 cm this works out to be a 32mm fitting tube which is readily available on Ebay and from different sellers. If however it is more then it has a 35mm fitting.
If its bigger than that, then you'd need 35mm tubes of which some are still available on EBay. In any case, you can look at different manufactures because when it comes to telescopic metal tubes the 32mm fittings will fit any vacuum cleaner that can accomodate these sizes. Therefore shop around; Hoovermania have a few on offer and you can phone / email them if you are not sure.
