Cannot get Dial Tone on KX-TG6700 - phone worked fine yesterday - can received incoming calls ok too, just can't get a dial tone to make an outgoing call. I have already unplugged all units and let them sit and then re-powered them all - no help. Phone line is good since I can receive calls right? Any suggestions?!

Usually broken dial tone means the line has call-forward set. You get broken tone for 3 or 4 seconds, then goes back to normal. Are you receiving incoming calls normally? It's common to set or cancel 'cause the code might kinda match a number you use. And it may be forwarded to nowhere, example, you dial 729-1111, but press 72#-1111. You might be forwarded to 1111, the code being 72#. The 1111 goes nowhere, someone calls you, calls gets forwarded, then they get a message"that number does not exist". If that's the code for your area, then 73# might be the cancel code. Check the front of the original phone book, or Google codes for your service provider.
If that pulsating tone is anything like what I sometimes here on my phone, then it has nothing to do with your phone. It's your telephone company telling you that there's unheard voicemail on their system. You'll need to contact your telephone service provider for instructions on how to access their voicemail system.
Believe it or not, I accidentally discovered you have to really press hard on the numbers to dial !!! I guess this happened as one is used to a light touch working on a cell etc
Double check your wire from the wall to your base set.
Is it possible you have something 'off hook' and the phone company has turned the dial tone off? Look in the front of your telephone book for the procedure to check the service to the "De-Mark"
