When i installed my olympus camera software i received the message "hardware malfunction call your hardware vendor for support" and now my pc will not boot

Hi,

Please restart your pc, and keep hitting the F8 key as soon as you restart. You should get an advanced options screen. Choose Safe Mode with Networking and wait for the files to load. After 10 minutes you should be on your desktop. If your pc successfully restarts in safe mode then uninstall the olympus software from the add/remove programs and restart your pc again. This time don't press anything and wait for the pc to start normally.

Hope that helps!

Cant acess safe mode in windows xp, just cycles startup screens

Here are some steps to use MSCONFIG to force your computer into SAFE MODE
  1. Click on Start and then Run.
  2. In the text box in the Run window, type msconfig and click OK. This will open the System Configuration Utility program.
Note: Do not make changes in the System Configuration Utility other than those outlined here to avoid causing serious system issues. This utility controls a number of startup activities other than those involved with Safe Mode.
  3. Click on the BOOT.INI tab located at the top of the System Configuration Utility window.
  4. Check the checkbox next to /SAFEBOOT and click OK.
  5. You will then be prompted to either Restart, which will restart the PC immediately, or Exit Without Restart, which will close the window and allow you to restart the PC manually.
  6. After the restart, the PC will automatically boot into Windows XP Safe Mode.
Note: Windows XP will continue to boot into Safe Mode until the System Configuration Utility is configured to again boot normally.
  7. When your work in Safe Mode is complete, click on Start and then Run. Type msconfig in the text box and click OK.
This will again open the System Configuration Utility program.
  8. Choose the Normal Startup radio button and click OK.
  9. You will then be prompted to either Restart, which will restart the PC immediately, or Exit Without Restart, which will close the window and allow you to restart the PC manually.
  10. After the restart, the PC will boot into Windows XP normally and will continue to do so.

My windows alwyas restart & recovery bios

orangmedn

pc r restart for several reason like power supply problem, over heated, os problem. if ur pc restart when u try to access any drive or insart cd or dvd in drive means ur power supply is faulty. and if it restart after a fixed time (approximately) means over heated. (u reinstall xp so operating system is not infected.) if one of above symptom r their then no need to update bios.

2nd if some problem heppen during ur bios update and it not wirte properly and u restart ur pc in this situation the ur pc can not start and result is no display condition. if it happen then contact with any mother board repear centre or mother board service centre. (because if bios program r corrupt it need to repalce or rewite).

(**2nd time if u update any BIOS be Cautious. at first take backup then update. if any problem happen then restor with backup copy, then restart ur pc. until u sure update successfully do not restart ur pc).
