Sparks smoke came from back panel....panel went blank and oven door locked....was told the clock shorted out so it was replaced....when plugged back in an error code of f11 came up and stove beeped...what can this be? Tech said when f11 code appears it means it needs a new touch panel....these are very costly repairs..may be worth just getting a new1??? It is a kenmore elite dual fuel range stainless steel...what does this f11 code mean?

Not much else huh? My glass door exploded soon after i returned from work to find an error code flashing and apparently the cleaning mode came on by itself and would not turn off. The door locked itself also. This could have seriously injured someone or caught the house on fire!

What's the full model number?

unfortunetly the touch pad is around 350 to 450 dollars, sears has it for 350 and the code that you are getting is the touch panel and the part number is 5303935257.you can try to call the factory and there should be an 800 number in the manual or on the machine and tell them what's happening to you and see if they will do anything for you,i've seen where they will come out, give you the part and you pay for the labor, also you already changed the clock assy. if i were you if the stove is in good shape and depending on how old it is i would get the touch panel, there isn't much more that can go wrong with the machine other than normal things like a bad ignitor or something but this is up to you to decide, good luck with you machine.

I have a double frigidaire oven and i am using the self cleaning and i am getting an err f11 and it just keeps beeping, it will not let me cancel

Unfortunately, an F11 error indicates a short at the keypad. Try unplugging the oven and waiting a minute before restoring the power. If that resets the error, great.

Otherwise, you need to replace parts. Please add a comment with the model number for specific information. Most likely, you need to replace the electronic control unit (clock). However, this error can be a sign of a damaged wiring harness or the secondary control panel in the oven.

If the oven door is locked, you may be able to temporarily unlock it by accessing the switch controlled by the door lock motor. You will need to unplug the oven and pull it out. Then take off the back panel to reach the switch.

I hope this helps. Again please add a comment with the oven model for more assistance.

Hello Diana,
Their are a few things that should be checked. I know its going to be tough to check on a built in double wall oven but one thing that needs to be checked is if their is 240 volts ac entering the oven(i know the breaker is ok) but the connection at the back of the oven can burn, then the proper voltage wont enter the oven.
Another thing is a high limit thermostat thats inside of the control panel, need to checkif it has blown.
Last thing i can think to check is if 120 volts is at the clock, if not 120vac that explains the blank display

Viking oven won't turn on

I had same problem (twice) with my Viking dual fuel range. In my case a relay that supplies power to the oven heating elements failed. The convection fan would run. The elements were warm to the touch. If you have a free standing range, it may be that relay (part number PM010026) which is located in the front of the stove. Remove a long narrow stainless steel panel (1 screw each side) located under where the door hinges. You can hear the relay click when you turn up the oven thermostat. That will help you locate the relay.

Note: Viking does not sell parts. You have to find their parts distributor for your part of the country.
