Had a thunder storm last night. My tv was off, however after the storm I tried to turn it on and nothing! The outlet is good, I have my direct tv box plugged into the same outlet and it has power. I looked but I don't see any sort of circuit reset on this unit. I've only had it for a few months. Anything I can do?

Plug the power cord directly into a wall power outlet, and make sure that the standby light is lit (turn it on/off manually to see if anything changes). If there isn't any light, then it's most likely broken.
If the TV works again, being plugged into the power outlet in the wall, then the problem is with the cable box (i bet you figured that out too).
Hi, please call a specialist in that for assistance. As of now and future: Follow what everyone says: "Turn off the modem and TV during a lightning storm".
Check whether the power outlet has power. If it has, I suggest please do not attempt to switch on the TV, unless checked by a qualified service technician.
More than likely your power supply got fried from a power surge during that storm anyway. You'd be surprised at how worthless most surge suppressors are these days.
First check your power outlet, try connecting the TV to a different power outlet. Then see whether the LED light on the TV is on or blinking. Anyhow, this might need attention by a qualified service technician.
have u made sure that the out let has power yet? if not check fuse box. next, if has power to outlet, manually press power button not remote controll, after it has been unplugged for some time. view the back pannel of tv. and see if there is a fuse or fuse notification. follow manufactuar or owners manual instructions from here, google vizio support or call 888 849 4623 with model and info ready
There is no reset button you can unplug the 120VAC power cord for 30 seconds or so then repower up. Surge protection on the 120VAC outlet servicing the washer is a good idea going forward. If normal operation does not return with the power up/power down then I feel you may have failed Control Board. FAV6800A/FAV9800A Service Manual and Sears Parts Directfor reference. See Sears Parts Direct or any vendor for pricing this is the Control board you need if yours has failed p/n 25001217. I just checked Sears Parts Direct and they have it for $135.67 but is states back ordered. That is the best price out there.I wonder if they made a mistake in pricing. With a Thunder Storm line transient there could be other issues Motor Controller or TDS sensor but I feel it will come down to the Control Board. If you decide to go forward and replace I will give you some additional info on removing the Console and the proper way to remove the ribbon cable from the Console to the Control Board……Rich
