Hi and welcome to FixYa!
Common reasons for missing emails;
Settings applied to incoming mail, such as a filter or forwarding
A configuration issue with IMAP
1 or POP
2 access
Deliberate or accidental human action, or possibly a compromised account
check all of your folders, trash, all mail, forwarding and POP/IMAP settings, and check your filters to make sure nothing is being stopped.
If you've deleted a message permanently, by clicking
Delete Forever in your Spam or Trash, you won't be able to recover the message using the Gmail interface.
If you've moved a message to Trash, by clicking
Delete, but it's been fewer than 30 days and you haven't permanently deleted it, follow these steps to put it back in your inbox:
- Sign in to Gmail.
- Click Trash along the left side of any Gmail page. (If you don't see Trash along the left side of your Gmail page, go to the Labels tab in Settings, then click the show link next to the Trash label.)
- Locate the message you'd like to move to your inbox, and check the box next to the sender's name.
- Click Move to Inbox.
If you feel that someone has been in your gmail, you can test this and see if someone from another IP has been in your mail! ( i really like gmail for so many reasons)
When you sign into your Gmail, look all the way down on the bottom right. It will show recent activity and IP addresses that have accessed your mail. You can also sign up for 'alerts' to unusual activity/sign ins from here.
Hope this helps.
