What make and model camera? If it uses a memory card of some type, have you considered NOT connecting your camera to your computer? The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

I need to take photos off my Sanyo Cellphone and download to my Computer. I haven't got a clue. I have a cord connecting computer and phone, but I don't know what software it takes to download...

Hi,

The Sanyo SCP-2700 cell phone does not support 'browsing' or file transfer. The suggested course of action is to upload the photos to Picturemail - please be sure you have the Picturemail service and a data plan, otherwise it will get expensive.

Once the photos are uploaded to Picturemail, you can download them to your PC singly or as a ZIP archive.

Regards.

Need to transfer pictures from camera to PC. I don't have installed camera transfer s/w. Is it possible to transfer without any speciic s/w?

If you have widows vista you will not need other software, simply plug the camer in and it will recognize the camera and ask if you want to import pictures into widows photo gallery or maybe even adobe depending on what you have installed. You can get adobe free from the internet.

I have pc with vista ultimate 64 bit edition but i cant get it to rcognise my vivicam 7100s to transfer pics to pc

Your best bet would be to buy a cheap SD card reader and use that to transfer pics. Your camera probably is not supported by windows vista. (let alone vista x64)
