I have a 26 inch LCD insignia TV I toughed it and scatic shot out to the TV at the on/off switch teh TV shut off at that point. now it just turns on and off by itself. as soon as teh picture starts to appear it shut down for a couple of seconds adn then trys to turn back on. over and over and over...

It used to work fine, only 1 a/c plug so thats fine, settings would not cause these symptoms

Check the caps. 2 big blue ones. They are prob bubbling on the top which indicates they are bad.

The power supply will need to be replace or repair if the LCD failed to switch to the blue light.
I repair these power supplies.

This is a long shot but, there may be a reset button on the back of the tv if not try unplugging it over night.
