This is a chip problem... My FIRST S7000, had this problem, and I had it replaced by Fuji {out of warranty}, now today, the SECOND S7000 is doing the exact same thing!
Contact Fuji at their New Jersey offices for info on how to get your camera repaired.

My camera now works!!! I totally discharged the battery using the facility on the camera and then fully recharged. The camera now works as new. Hope this helps.

advisory list just mail the fuji film with serial number i am pretty
sure they will repair free of charge it is a manufacturing fault in
some units manufactured b4 2005 u have to email them they will repair
it free of charge

Most likely a CCD error. In some regions this has earlier been covered by extended warranty. Try contacting Fujifilm in your country.
