Hello, I have a Shark euro-pro sewing machine. I am sewing denim on denim using singer needles that were suggested for denim. The numbers on the package are 2020 110/18 808 R 130/705H 05 un I have not oiled the machine and have had it for 4 years. I have been sewing this denim daily for a few weeks with no problem until tonight. The top thread on my sewing machine keeps breaking. Any suggestions? Thank you, Emilie

The size of needle is fine for sewing on denim so unless the needle is bent (and even so) I doubt that is the problem. Breaking upper thread typically has more to do with the threading, ie wrapped around some place along the way or misthreaded somehow, of even if you somehow got knots or that it has somehow got thread around the spindle for the spool. So first recheck the threading. Best to do by simply totally unthreading it, looking closely at the spool and winding and then rethreading it again. Make sure your upper tension hasn't been accidentally tightened too.

Next check the bobbin and bobbin thread. First pull on the thread. Is it pulling real tightly or does it flow out readily? Take the bobbin out and look at it. Check the tension also. Is it too tight? That too can cause the upper thread to break.

Is the needle penitrating the material smoothly? Again examine the needle closely to see if it's developed a burr. Better yet just swap the needle with a new needle and try it.

The majority of the time it is one of these things that will cause the top thread to break.

it sounds like the machine has jumped time & needs to be retimed
at a sewing machine repair shop.
I also suggest you throw away that denim needle, it's very
lightly damaged.

www.sewingpartsonline.com have this part but list it for the Euro Pro Shark 9015

However, you could email them and double check its suitability for your model.

GC 500/550 not pulling bobbin thread. My wife has used the machine several times without issue, the last time she broke a needle sewing some denim, we found most of the needle but could not find it all,...

some sewing machines can not sew denim good,
here are some suggestions
since a needle was broken & replaced--if the needle has a flat side it goes to the back of the machine
make sure the needle is inserted correctly & pushed up inside of the needle holder & the needle screw tightened correctly
is the correct needle being used for the thread & fabric being sewed?
when sewing denim, a denim needle is needed, I usually purchase mine at walmart, I have 2 necchi sewing machines & the denim needles work just fine on my machines.

if none of the above suggestions help then the machine could be out of time, just because of a broken needle. only a repair shop has the correct tool to fix this problem

What size needle does the euro-pro x 384 take?

The needle size depends on the type of fabric you're using. Generally, if you're sewing heavy or sturdy fabrics you'll need a size 16 needle. If you're sewing light weight fabrics, you'll need an 11. Nowadays, most machines will take any brand of needles. I hope this helps. If it does, please return and rate my suggestion.

I need a replacement Auto needle threader. There seems to be no where that I can find the pat numbers for anything on the machine....Euro-Pro 9106 Deluxe Denim & Silk sewing machine.

I've never had an auto needle threader work properly for very long. My suggestion is to not bother to replace it and just relearn how to thread the needle. Sorry.

Needle breaks on my Shark Euro-pro model 361 my

Are you inserting the needle fully into clamp? You may have a bad lot of needles that werent straight. Try sewing by hand with machine to see exactly where and when needle breaks, then you might be able to solve problem.

Won't catch bobbin thread

In order to see whether or not my euro-pro 9110 had a timing issue, the service rep had me change out the needle (making sure I was using anything but a Singer brand needle--they do not work in these machines). I re-threaded the needle, took out the bobbin casing and the plastic ring encasing the bobbin, then lowered the needle to see if the hook on the metal ring holding the bobbin actually catches the thread on its own. If it doesn't catch, it's a timing issue and needs repair. They can walk you through this process of troubleshooting and set up repair if need. Thread keeps breaking

Check the direction of the thread while threading the needle. I had the same problem and it went away when I threaded the needle from the opposite side of what I was doing.
