MP3 players do not run downloaded programs. They play music and video files as well as display photos.

Check the specification of your MP3 player to determine thetype of video file format it uses. Most common video files that MP3 players use are, AVI andWMV, there may be others such as FLV, MOV and DivX. If your player cannot play a video then it is anincompatible video file format, then you need to convert that video file to aformat that your MP3 player uses. Click on this link for instructions on converting videofiles for MP3 players :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r5874192-play_videos_mp3_player
MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto yourcomputer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3player.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player willcreate a MP3 music file for each music track.

guest - you must have Windows Vista - it's not compatible

Either the device is bad, the pc port is bad, or the software is faulty. Try connecting to different usb port, then a usb port on a different pc with a compatible os. If still not recognized, then there is physical damage to player.

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware.

SOURCE: sansa clip installation

What you need to do is update your Windows Media Player. I believe it has to be WMP10 and higher. Let me know if that works. Oh and you also need at least Windows XP Service Pack 2. so update your windows software

SOURCE: My PC (windows XP) doesn't detect Sansa e250 MP3 player

Turn the player off before you plug it in and if it doesn't find it then turn it on while plug in.

Trio v430 mp3 player

My Sansa e260, came refurbished with no program for it. I just downloaded one, but now my computer will not show me the contents of my Sansa? Is there a better way to get a program for my Sansa? I'm just incapable of removing/adding music to it at the moment, and it's frustrating!

Someone gave me there Sansa Fuze mp3player but they didn't have the instruction booklet. I'm trying to find out how I download things to the mp3 player

You need a USB cable which you need to connect to your computer. This cable also serves as a charger. You will probably need to load(rip) the music from a CD to your computer into a program called Windows Media Player. Then you will use this program (Windows Media Player) to "sync" your MP3 player to the computer from which you can download music to your MP3 player. [email protected]

DO NOT KNOW HOW TO DOWNLOAD FROM COMPUTER

What model Player do you have? I know they try and gear the players toward Rhapsody - can you download from there? Does your player support the Real Player format? If not, there are programs available that will convert a song from Real Player format and others (like WMA, etc.) into plain MP3 format. Also try Amazon.com - I believe their music is downloaded in plain MP3 format.

Have you tried the Sansa website? Their tech support and FAQ's are very helpful (I recently had problems with a Sansa Clip that could not be resolved, so they are exchanging it for me)

How to download music to my sansa mp3 1gb.

I use Windows Media Player v. 11 (free software) with Windows XP transferred via the USB cable. This program will use the "sync" settings to add the music on your computer to the player. But, if the music is not in the MP3 or other compatible format for the player, then the WMP program will have to convert it first, which can take quite a few minutes if you have a lot of music.

You need to use the sansa media converter program that came with the sansa on the CD. This is used for photos1.gif and for video. The supported files are listed on the screen once you open it.You shouldnt have any problems transferring music to it using that program
