Sounds like your screen is cracked.

  • Anonymous May 20, 2011

Thanks but the screen doesn't look cracked. It's largely blank (but bright) and on the right hand side there are several vertical different coloured lines. Then at the bottom of the screen, some 85% toward the bottom, is a horizontal line with more tightly packed and coloured vertical lines beneath. I've just taken out and put back the memory card and I now have some faint images (in camera mode too), but the lines are still there....?

My panosonic DMC TZ 65 has vertical loines on display screen

Welcome to Fixya

Sounds like you have a LCD screen problem and need to be replaced. Try to drain the electrostatic charge of the mainboard of the camera. Take out the battery and press and hold the power button for 15 secs. Put back the battery in and turn on the camera. If vertical lines still shows up then the problem is already the screen.

Thank you for using Fixya!

In playback/review mode of photos, only some appear while others are blank. All photos are present when uploaded to the computer or displayed at a photo kiosk, but only intermittent photos can be reviewed...

If, after viewing the pics on a computer, you don't use the "safely remove hardware" function before pulling out the cord/card, the files on the card may become corrupted and not recognized by the camera anymore.

My camera was dropped. The LCD screen is black with two small crack lines on screen. There are some light vertical lines but no image at all (in camera or playback mode). Zoom moves. I can hear camera...

The screen is fully damaged. You will have to get it replaced. Prior to that click a few snaps and transfer them to yous PC and check whether all the images are sharp and do not show any problem. Cause the service centre might try to get more money from you saying a different problem was found. If the images are fine. dont forget to mention the same to the service centre people.

No button warks, but I can change the shooting mode and turn playback, but I can't change the image in playback mode.
Please, help me to solve this problem.

Thanks a lot.

Panasonic DMC-TZ1 operates in Playback mode only

Hi,

The position from the dial wheel is not corresponding with the electrical position. If you can do it by yourself you can adjust it and tighten the midscrew from the dialwheel

Blank Screen

Looks like CCD sensor problem. If this is the case your camera will work fine in playback mode but not in capture mode. Sensor has to be replaced.
