Hello, I am searching rc6 ir remote control drivers for hp pavilion dv7-1170us(win 7).... Please help me out to solve my problem

there are 6 drivers is way,,, ( or just 2) 1 for XP and 1 for vista /w7

the drivers are NOT on the internet they are at HP,
its 100% custom HP hardware here.!!!

MY wild guess is this PC is a media center edition?????
there is no MCE, page at HP for this exact PC, only generic.
and no such file listed there. thus HP, FTP links to lost files.

They only have windows XP drivers for that series !!!

Just Try this

- Open Device Manager (in the Start search field, enter Device Manager andselect it) - The devices for which drivers did not install are shown inthe Other Devices section. - Right click on the audio device and select Update devicedriver - Select the Search automatically for updated device driver

Try the HO WEB site for the Win 7 device drivers.
You can download the device drivers from the Compaq/HP WEBsupport/download page. Make sure you select your model laptop and the Windowsdrivers you require and install them. Click on this link to download thedrivers: -

According to this site it should automatically detect the driver. You can uninstall and reinstall it to see if that works.

There are only vista drivers available from hp, they may work for you, try installing them under compatability mode

The remote control which ship along HP notebook works with only Windows Media Center ..... all you need to launch Windows Media Center application and use the remote to control on notebook, hope this help u.

It appeared you might need to down the newer version of the driver.
