Hi i have a sansui sty1842 hd led but my ps2 is not working on it. i have plugged in the red, white and yellow cables and nothing

First of all make sure the cables are connected to the correct inputs, which you have probably already done. After that, I had the same problem with my sons tv when we got it. His is a phillips 42". I had to go to the phillips website and download a patch, copy it to a flash/thumb drive and plug that into the usb port on the tv and install the patch from the tv's menu. After that the Playstation worked fine.

I HAVE A PHILLIPS 42'' PLASMA 42PF9630A-37

The only thing I can suggest outside of taking the television to get repaired is a hail-mary firmware update. To be honest, the firmware update process is fairly complicated and lengthy. You can download the firmware and find instructions for it here.

http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/cpindex.pl?ctn=42PF9630A/37&scy=US&slg=AEN

Look on the right hand side for firmware information.

This TV is likely outside of its 1 year manufacturer's warranty so you would have to pay any and all repairs. Before deciding to do a repair you might try calling Philips. For a while they were offering a service to customers like yourself with out of warranty units. They would offer to sell you a more up to date model at a discount. I'm not sure they still do this but its worth a shot.

Hope that helps!

My son pressed a button on my tv and now it is frozen on the setup screen, i have no remote for the tv as all is done through sky can you help me please??? it is a 42pfl5522d/05 42 in phillips model no

You could try switching the tv off at the mains for a couple of minutes. This should get it out of the setup menu.
Have a look on ebay for a remote control.

42PF9630A 42 in. Plasma Television: hi there, I have a phillips 42 inch plasma flat...

This is because the power switch operated the socket that your TV is plugged into. Unplug it and plug it in another socket that is not operated by a switch. Appliances should not be plugged into a socket operated by a switch because of the inconsistency of power to the socket. Lights are about the only thing that should be plugged in.

I have a Philips plasma 42 with black lines across the screen

I would first check if there is an available firmware upgrade for your model .Upgrade requires you to download firmware from philips website. Then transfer it to a memory stick .Then use a memory stick reader to plug into tv for firmware upgrade.Other wise the set would probably need repair .Possible a bad SSB board or another issue

Pillips Plasma - Screen is not centered.

Hi jasonlambert,

You can use the remote control to center the picture on screen. Press to the right of the round pad around the OK button until your image is centered. (I had the same problem once)

Phillips TV- Plasma Model #42PF7220A/37

A tech will need to come out. When the tech do come out have him unplug the Y main and see if the led goes solid greem if it does have them replace the Ymain and the Y upper/lower boards. Most likely that will be the problem.
