There should be a button or switch that will select the recording deck and the dubbing deck. You put a blank tape into the recording deck and the pre-recorded one into the play deck. Pressing the record button on the dubbing deck, on some models should start the play deck running. If not press play on that deck.

A Tv repair shop carries a large stock of belts, probably a good place to start. The other option is order from Sony online and ask for the Technical Department.

This is a manufacture defect and needs to be returned to the store for exchange.

No you can not go from the cassette to cd on the unit. You can go from cd to cassette though. The unit is not a cd recorder.

It depend of what you want, where you want use your equipment , and the amplifier have to match your need . This mean , any amplifier can work with your sony.
