I upgraded Memory to 4GB with Two 2GB SD Ram Modules but System shows Only One 2GB module and does not show/recognize second module. BIOS Setting Shows Second Slot/RAM Module Not Activated.

is the module in properly?,is anything broken?? switch them around and see if the module is good or not, also, just because the motherboard supports 2 modules,if intel only recognizes 2gb then that is all, whether you have 2 1gb modules or 2 2gb modules, upgrade your intel chip and upgrade your bios

Can I upgrade my acer 5315 memory to 2GB with two 1GBs in two slots or I can put two 2GB slots adding up to 4GB? Thanks

You can upgrade it to 2GB (MAX) if icon_detail.gifMemory Type: DDR2 PC2-5300, DDR2 (non-ECC)
Maximum Memory: 2GB
Slots: 2
Each memory slot can hold DDR2 PC2-5300 with a maximum of 1GB per slot.

Hope this helps.

Can I add 1GB memory chip in 2nd slot with a 512MB chip in 1st?

You can upgrade by inserting a 1GB PC2100 DDR SDRAM DIMM. I would put the 1MB in the first slot and move the 512MB chip to the second slot.
The 1GB should cost around $40.

Want to know how to upgrade my lap top memory thank you

To upgrade you will need a SoDimm 2gb DDR II SDRAM, 667 MHz module, on the bottom of the notebook you will need to remove the panel usually secured by 4 screws to gain access to the memory slots, you probably have a 1 and 2 gb modules already so it'll mean removing the 1gb chip and discarding it as you only have 2 memory slots so you can fit the new 2gb module.

Adding an additional memory module to laptop...wont start!!!

The problem is that your laptop only supports 2 GB of RAM. If there is not a newer bios allowing more then 2 GB is the max you can go. Since you put the 2 GB in one slot then the other slot will be useless. It wouldn't matter how much you put in the 2nd slot because the bios already says you have 2 GB on board and will not accept anymore. Sorry.

Can i upgrade my MT3705 to 4GB RAM?

If you get rid of Vista and put in 2gb of Ram your Laptop will not need 4 gb of ram.  You need to get it will not support double sided or ECC this is why you can not have 4gb you need 2GB kit (1GBx2), 200-pin SODIMM, DDR2 PC2-5300 memory module

Toshiba satellite a100,wa-1 memory upgrade

Hi,

Take out all the memory cards and wipe the gold part of the memory modules.

Then insert the two 512 modules & check the memory.

If it shows the correct readings, then the two modules are detected.

Then insert the 1 gb & other one 512 module.

If it shows the correct readings, then the two modules are detected.

Then use the other one gb with the same 512 & check if it shows the correct readings.

Then the two 2 gb modules are fine.

Now insert the two 1 gb modules & check now.

There are ECC type & non-ECC type memory modules are available, chck which one your computer supports & which type you have.

If it shows the correct readings, then the two modules are detected and fine.

Then you can also swap the slot and check if any memory module is not detectd correctly.

Some have four slots & i dont know how many slots your laptop have.

Good Luck.
