You did not provide the full details of your problem.
Generally, there is no option to reset laptops or computers to factory setting. Though you can perform two operations on your system to undo certain changes, or erase any permanent change.
1. SYSTEM RESTORE.
If you perform any changes on your computer that you want undone, selecting the option 'System Restore' automatically restores your system to an initial time it worked perfectly.
To perform the system restore operation, go to the control panel section of the PC and launch the system restore.
What system restore does is to restore your PC to an earlier time. So assuming you performed an installation, uninstallation or update program that is presently disturbing the performance of the PC, System restore would take the system's state to the date of the restore point you selected. Your files and documents won't be affected.
Restore points are created on your system each time you perform major system changes.
2. FORMATTING OF THE HARD DRIVE.
Before opting for this option, you must have been extremely pushed to the wall. That was why I earlier said that insufficient information was given about what your problem actually was. Formatting your hard drive totally wipes it clean of all data, and unlike system restore, it can't be undone.
You would have to back up your data to avoid data loss, and ensure that you have the recovery disk, or access to the installation drivers to reinstall with. This should be done when there is no other option, or when you feel you should clean up you system, but make sure you have a backup when doing such.
Hope that helped?
Take care.
