The cartridges are new HP cartridges. I unplugged the printer and plugged it back in. I cleaned the copper dots on the ink and on the printer. I took the ink out and put it back in correctly several times. I wiped off the ink nozzle in the printer. I still get the error. The printer is only 3 years old and I have never had problems. It seem like there is something small and simple I have not tried yet. Please Help. Thanks

Hi,

Turn the HP printer on. Use the printer to print a test page. If this does not correct the problem, you will need to buy new ink cartridges. ...

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent inkdrying out in the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer thanreplace the print head.

0xc18a0106 error from hp 3310 printer.... ink system has failed

That error code indicates a Ink system failure error message. Ink system failed mainly caused by your cartridge spitting extra inks into the copper contacts inside the printer. All you need is to remove all cartridge, clean the copper contacts at the back of it, clean also the contacts inside the printer (cartridge slots). Insert it back in after cleaning, unplug the power cord without turning off the printer, wait for 1 min before plugging it back in. Let me know the result.

My hp photosmart c309a printhead missing

1. Plug the printer in the wall socket directly (Don't use the surge protector 2. If the issue shows up again, take the printheads and the ink cartridges out and clean them with a clean cotton cloth or paper towel and make sure that there is no ink as well in the copper contacts of the print heads and the the place where the printheads fix in the printer, there as well there are some copper contacts, so clean them as well with the que tip (Little bit moisten it)... 3. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer while it is turned on and keep the ink and printheads out 4. Wait for 2 mins and then plug the power cable in... 5. Then once the printer shows that printheads missing, put the printhead in and then the cartridges 6. If the issue still doesn't gets resolved then follow the step given below Take the printheads assembly and the ink cartridges out of the printer While printer is On unplug the power cable from the back of the printer While the printer is unplugged, press and hold # & 6 on the printer together for 30 secs and after 30 secs while holding those buttons, plug the power cord in the back of the printer After plugging back release the buttons after 6 secs And then when printer asks for printheads and cartridges then put them back in
If the issue is still there then check the dates written on the printheads, if they appear to be in warranty please call Hp Tech Support and check if they can replace it but make sure you don't mention that you're using refilled ink cartridges (if in case you are using) Thanks and regards (All the best!!)

Printer is printing but no ink on paper. Change cartridges and hasn't printed yet. And i'm using Windows 7 now. i checked the previous solution but i'm unable to find the maintenance tab.

Remove the cartridges from the printer and clean the copper contacts on the cartridges with a lint free clean cloth and distilled water, open the cartridges access door and unplug the power cable from the printer while it is ON, clean the copper contacts on the printer where the cartridges contacts touches it and then plug the cord back , insert the cartridges and align , check the results.

If this does not work, Here are the steps for reset, if it still won't work, then service the printer and repalce it frm HP if in warranty.
Unplug the power cable from the printer and press and hold power and cancel buttons and plug the cord back and then check the results after turning off and ON, make sure the cartridges are out when you do this.

New ink cartridge won't print

Do you know for sure the original cartridge was empty? Take a clean pencil with eraser, and gently "erase" the electrical contacts on the cartridge and the printer where the 2 connect. See if that helps. If it is USB, unplug it and plug it back in. You might try to uninstall and reinstall the driver for the printer.

Third light from the right keeps blinking printer wont print Hp 940c

I had the same problem and the following worked for me: I used a cotton swab with alcohol to clean contact points (copper colored dots) on the back of the ink cartridges themselves. I also gently cleaned the brass-colored pins in the cartridge slots. Hope this solves your problem.
