Hi there sal rick85
sounds like the unloader valve is not working or stuck closed , check the setting of the unloader valve may be set too high, the unloader must open in odrder to cycle water back to inlet side of pump - if not builds up heaps of pressure , stalls the engine - service the un loader valves on the pressure head
take look and let me know - what brand your blaster unit is i know its honda but what pump
comet - axd, lw/zw, - in line or axial cam
in the mean time here is good web site on power washers

I had the same trouble with mine and I replaced the O-rings in the unloader and i'm away again.....at least I was until i bley the oil seal in the pump.....don't panic I found a seal 73 x 35 x 8 back on track until i put new oil in the pump and overtightened the oil cap/breather.....snap oops! I cant find a similar breather so im just making one to suit.

Mine had the same problem. Adjusted the unloader valve and runs GREAT now! Went ahead and upgraded the gun as well. It's like a brand new washer again!

SOURCE: pressure washer does not spray consistent flow of pressure
Pressure washers have a pressure regulator/unloader that bypasses the water back into the intake when you let go of the trigger with motor running. If you let the machine run for long preiods in bypass the system could be damaged due to heating of the water being bypassed. The water is in a closed loop. The as the unloader wears it will tend to want to bypass which is what is happening in your case. Dirt trapped at the tip will cause this also. Install clean tip to solve problem. If clean tip did not help then try lowering the pressure by turning pressure regulator counterclock wise. If problem is gone then parts are failing but keep using pump. Good luck.
SOURCE: pressure washer stalls out when wand nozzle is released
common for not starting unless trigger engaged as you are turning the pump as well as engine creating pressure,as for stalling pump has unloader valve which is probably in need of grease(use good silicone grease)this allows water to ciculate when trigger released.
SOURCE: my pressure washer won't build up any pressure.
I'll assume you have an electric rather than a gas powered unit. First check the button on the plug to be sure the GFCI hasn't popped and be sure the outlet has power. With the water faucet turned fully on and the power switch on squeeze and hold the trigger for at least 10 seconds to let the water flow push the air out and then it should start up.
