My hp laser jet 3500 is showing an error message in the dispaly window. It says "50.1 Fuser Error. Fuser is hot. Press both sides of fuser to ensure it is fully seated." What is the fuser and where is it located? 50.2 fuser error
Error 50 means your fuser assembly has gone bad or its not getting power to be functional. you need to replace the fuser unit.
In short a 'fuser' or fuser unit also fixing unit on this HP color laser jet printer is just below the dark cover were the paper comes out remove the two side covers the the top cover ti si a orenge ruber roller that press onto agrey film and inside this film is a heating ellement the heating element heats up the gray film that press onto the orange rubber roller this together with its plates cables and connectors the unscrew via 4 to 6 screws from the machine is the 'fuser' the 'tekkie' or technicians call this fuser unit the fuser in short.

The fuser bonds the ink powders onto the paper. It is usually located behind the cartridge in the paper path. There may be several reasons why this error shows. (Bad fuser or bad power supply). It looks like this:

SOURCE: Fuser Error 50.1 Fuser is hot. What is a fuser?
50.1
A low fuser temperature error has occurred, possibly due to an inadequate external or internal power supply.
this basicaly means that either the dc controller board is on its way out (expensive) or that there is a drain on the power line.
if you have it plugged into an extension lead try plugging it directly into the wall socket. if this fails also try using a different power lead (very easy to get hold of and are normaly called kettle leads)
Hope this helps

MAKE SURE THE PRINTER IS OFF AND INPLUGED BEFORE YOU START! The fuser is located in the back of the printer. You should see two blue pads where your index finger and thumb (on both hands) should pinch together then pull the fuser out. Re-seat the fuser back into its original position and wait 20 minutes before turnging Unit back on. If you do not wait 20 mins then the 50 error will appear again even if the problem is fix. Once you wait 20 minutes and it still gives you a 50 error you must replace the fuser. I have a great place to purchase fuser so let me know if you nee contact info!
