If your pics are safely in your computer and you're ready to completely erase the card by formatting it, then all you have to do is go into the camera's setup menu and you will find "format"....just follow the on-screen instructions.

When I go to download the photos to the computer it says the card need to be formatted but it was before i took pictures. How do I get the pictures from the card to the computer

Welcome to FixYa.

First, I suggest that you have to clean you memory card using soft and dry cloth after that try to format it again and save it.

After you formatted your memory card, now try to upload it to your computer. Sometimes memory card wont work because is not formatted for the camera used you said that you already formatted it before, possible that you forgot to save all the settings and formatting that you've done before.

I hope this information can help you to resolve your issues.

Thank you for using Fixya.

My vivitar digital camera 8025 will not allow me to take pictures. I took all of my pictures off of my 2 GB card with a card reader and checked off erase all pictures from memory after uploaded to computer...

Hi

The Vivitar Vivicam 8025 could be giving the error becuase the card is corrupt or not formatted correctly.

I would suggest you remove it from the camera and place it back into the card reader. Format the card via the PC and then place it back into the camera and format the card in the camera; this will lay down the folder structure the camera expects to find.

Hopefully this will resolve the issue.

Regards

David

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5 does not recognise my memory card

1. Go into the menu and find "reset"...follow the on-screen instructions. 2. With no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format"...follow the instructions.. 3. After downloading any pictures from the card, insert it into the camera and do the "format" thing again. everything should work now. Remember, never use the computer to format or erase your card...always use the camera. Also, when removing the card from the computer, always use "safely remove hardware" icon at the bottom right of your computer screen.

Memory card

yes Formatting will erase everything on the card. The 2 cameras probably use different formats or even different qualities. You should upload pictures before switching the card between cameras. Hope this helps
