The big door seal is probably the problem. Put on gloves and using a solution of Laundry detregent and hot water and rags, carefully wipe clean all the folds of the seal. It will be icky. Next run a cycle with some detergent and oxyclean or bleach if you have it.
Especially during warm weather, damp clothing left in a front loader mildew slightly very quickly- you can't really see much but you can smell it! So get the clothes in to the dryer immediately. You'll want to relaunder the smelly clothing after you have cleaned the washer.
Good luck to you and Thank You using FiX YA!

I have soap scum releasing during my wash cycle leaving my cloths dirty. I have run the wash cycle with javax. I have tried C.L.R. and I have tried vinigar to clean the machine. I have taken hot water with javax and cleaned around the black rubber around the door and used a toothbrush to get in and scrub the gunk away. Then when I wash cloths there it is again.
How can I clean this scum from my washer. It is a front load Kenmore.
I have the same problem. It smells to me like the clothes aren't getting clean... I'll try cleaning around the seal but I wonder if the soap isn't reaching the laundry tub somehow? Is this possible, too?
I started to notice the smell, especially on my bath towels after using the washer for approx 1 year. I have tried cleaning the rubber seal around the door with everything and washed clothes with baking soda, bleach, hot water, and every laundry detergent made. nothing helps and I
am very dissatisfied with this washer. It was too expensive to have this type of problem.
