Question about Euro-Pro Shark GI490 Iron

1 Answer

I can't believe you charge for a general question about what type of water to use in a model EP670 Euro-Pro X iron. I got the iron 2nd hand and don't have the user manual so I would like to know what kind of water to use in it. Are manuals on-line?

On this and any iron that requires water use distill water it is free of minerals that way your iron is always clean and free of any sediment.

My euro pro ironing solution model 1000 does not heat up or allow steam to be released. It does make steam. What could be wrong?

The steam passages may be clogged, especially if ordinary water containing minerals was used to fill it. The instructions for your Euro-Pro iron probably specify use of distilled water.

I have a EURO-PRO X Model EP965 Steam Generator seems to working but steam is not coming our, neither for the iron nor for the brush.

I think you have a tank that is calcified and is not getting enough heat to the water assuming there is enough water in it. If it was blocked it would either cause the relief valve to vent or explode.

I would start by cleaning it, my best guess would be to run a few cycles with vinegar in it. This is a mild acid that will dissolve the calcium deposits. Try maybe a 50%-50% with vinegar and water.

Be sure the vinegar will not damage the unit, I do not know.

Hope these links help.

Hi, I have been given a Euro-Pro Ironing Solution EP1005 without a manual where do I put water in for steam & how does the suction work Marj

Hi,
I don't know that system, but you're real lucky, that type of irons are fantastic! Most such have something that looks like a big black knob (you can see the same type e.g. on steam cleaners). You screw it counter-clockwise until it opens. Then you fill it up with water through the little hole. That type of valve is the one I have seen the most on pro systems, while my own home type generator iron only has a tank you simply pull off so you can fill it under the faucet. I have no idea how the suction works, except for it being real great as it helps draw the steam through the garment and away, so it gets dry instantly. I'm sure it also allows you to use a lot more steam, e.g. on tough wrinkles...

Why don't you go to the Euro-Pro website, mail them and ask for their help in getting a manual for it? Or maybe you already tried that? If you look around, you might be able to get a downloadable manual from one of the many manual sellers online...

Good luck!
