No, you cannot charge the battery in the camera via the USB port. You need to use the LI-40C or LI-41C charger or equivalent.

Try recharging the battery. If that doesn't work, try a new battery.
Use the supplied charger to charge the battery. If you've lost the charger, you can get an LI-41C charger from Olympus. You can also get LI-40B or LI-42B batteries from them.
I went to two camera shops with my camera and the manual... they show me what I need and I buy it on e-bay.... much much much less expansive.... thanks anyway
