I purchased a used Cimbali M29 Select that needed a little maintenance. I went in to change the filters and ran into a problem trying to remove, the screw is stripped and I have tried everything I can. I don't want to damage any additional parts. I know how expensive a tech can be..any suggestions?
Remove the 3 screws on the side of the bell they might be bolts or allen wrench screws. That will give you easier access to the screen and screw(make sure you have extra screen and screws).

From your description it sound that the button strip need to be replaced. All the buttons of the coffees and also for hot water are all set in one unit the button strip. This like a membrane and is located under the buttons. This is frequent problem with m29 select since the connector of the button strip it is exposed under the cup warmer area and is very easy to absorb the humidity from steam escape inside the machine and when one short circuit it happens then since the whole strip is one unit it will mull faction as you described.
should be the same method unless the stop button needs replacement. The stop button is one of the most often used (abused) buttons and frequently needs replacement.

Keep press smoothly the ceter button stop for more than 10 sec. You will hear a sound and lights bliping. now fill the filter with coffee and press the button you want to program and keep it press untill you will have the required dose in then cup. Now the dose is set. you can program all other buttons in the same way. after you finish you can press once the stop buttong again. The machine is been programed and ready to be used. You can reprogram any button you want again following the same prosedure. Good luck. Rememebr to vote for this answer
Check the water level, if you remove the top panel you will notice that the steam valve are connected at different heights on the boiler. If the machine has the silver probe remove it and clean.
This is for you....I hope this M29 will do what you need...I called he Cimbali 1-800 number and this is all they had...I tried...been working on this one for about an hour...found one in Russian....Italian...Spanish....but when I translated them and tried to paste them they came in both languages and intermingled somehow....wierd....but here you go ....I hope this helps...good luck and thanks for rating my effort....The Fang
