I am using a 3Doptical mouse. When i put it into my emachine lab top, it glows but does not carry the cursor. it ask of the softwar that came with it but it did not come with any software. What do i do?

Before you plan to return make sure you have done some or all of this things first:

1. Did you reboot after you installed the os?
2. Did you make sure that if its a USB mouse that it is securely connected to the USB port ?
3. Were you able to move your mouse without any problem at all before the software installation ?
4. Have you had this problem before the installation of OS ?
5. Have you done all your software and windows updates ?
6. Will the mouse work when booting into Safe Mode ( pressing F8 during re-boot before Windows Vista loads) If it does then your softwares need to be updated.
7. Did you check you device manager to see that theres no yellow exclamation anywhere in the Mice and othert pointing devices or under the USB controller section?
8. Is there a legacy USB port to be activated on your computer BIOS ?

If the installation caused your mouse to be frozen then try and uninstall the Enterprise 2007 by using your keyboard and tab to the programs uninstall.

If your mouse still doesn't move after doing all of the above things
then try another new USB mouse. Sometimes you may have to wait for several seconds (even up to a minute for new usb mouse detection) before the USB mouse cursor will move. If the second new USB mouse still wont work then return it to where you bought it as it could be faulty usb connector

fiddle with your cursor settings in control panel under mouse settings

connect your mouse. then restart your laptop do not remove mouse while restarting laptop. if not work after restart there is a problem in your mouse IC.

Shift ▲ Hold the shift key down and press the letter key you want to make a CAPITAL letter.

down it will continue to delete so be careful).
Delete Deletes the character to the right of the cursor each time you press it.
Home Brings you to the beginning of the line the cursor is on.
End Brings you to the end of the line the cursor is on.
Esc Located in the upper right corner of your keyboard. Cancels an incomplete command;
it will also close an open menu.
← Moves the cursor to the left one space each time it is pushed; does not delete the
character.
↑ Moves the cursor up one line each time it is pushed; does not delete the character.
→ Moves the cursor to the right one space each time it is pushed; does not delete the
character.
↓ Moves the cursor down one line each time it is pushed; does not delete the character.
Insert Deletes the character to the right of the cursor and replaces it with whatever is typed on
the keyboard.
↔Tab Moves the cursor to the tab marks and between columns.
Shift + print screen Prints what is on your computer screen.
Highlight (to select) To make the item stand out. To choose or select it.
? *When an icon is highlighted (left click the mouse button one time while the cursor is pointing at
the icon), the program has been chosen and the name of the icon will change color. When this has
happened, you may press the Enter key to open the program.
? *To highlight a character or characters, move the cursor, using your mouse or the arrow keys, to
the left of the item you wish to select. Press the left mouse button and hold it down while you
move the mouse to the right. Let go of the left mouse button and your item(s) should be
highlighted. Then you can choose what you want to do to the selected item(s) e.g. bold, underline,
delete, italicize, etc.
“Drag and drop” Move the cursor to the item, click the left mouse button and hold it down.
Move the mouse, while holding down the left
mouse button, to the location you want to move the item. Let go of the left

Cursor - The arrow on your screen. The mouse is used to move the cursor.

If your plugging it into a P2P (which are the green and purple circular ports that your and keyboard go into) for mouse to get power, it would require a restart. I suggest using a USB mouse because it a plug n go.

You need to re-install your Windows Operating System.
Do you have the CD that came with your computer?
If so, just put that in the CD drive and follow the instructions.
Note: you may loose your data. to keep your files, dont select any options that tell you to format the drive.

If no CD, you can order a cd from the manufacturer for your specific model by contacting them.

Is your mouse constantly moving?
Are you having problem figuring out how to stop the moving mouse cursor?

Try putting the computer into safe mode by shutting down the computer. Turn the computer back on. At beginning of the boot process press and hold the f8 button and select safe mode from the menu.

When the safe mode is done booting up, try moving the mouse around. If it works, restart the the computer under normal Windows startup procedures.

Normal 0 Try disconnecting the Mouse Receiver from the USB port and reinstall the CD software program. When the program asks you to connect the Mouse Receiver to the USB port, do so and it should work.
