Not sure, I think the problem lies with some Power management application installed. Try disabling if there is any such application or check the settings in it.
Hope this helps. Good Luck.

Older Toshiba Laptop will only work on battery power, freezes up when plugged in

The power adapter could have a problem and be outputting too much power. This won't affect the battery but the computer will close down as a protection measure.

Toshiba A205 laptop charges fine, but freezes when adapter is plugged in.

Identification
  • Computer shops say that up to 20 percent of Toshiba laptops brought in for repair have issues with overheating. Symptoms may be as simple as the keyboard and bottom of the laptop being very hot while the computer is working, or the fans running at maximum rotation while the system becomes very slow for several minutes at a time. More inconvenient issues are common, such as the system completely seizing up and having to be "killed" with the battery pulled out, or the computer may shut down all by itself with no warning. Sometimes the laptop works fine until the user starts any significant memory-demanding applications, like photo editing software, several Internet windows being open at the same time, or an Internet video stream.
Significance
  • A common problem with the Toshiba laptop is that dust becomes clogged between the cooling fan and the heatsink, a device which lowers the temperature by dissipating heat into the surrounding air. Now heat produced by the processor is trapped inside the laptop, and the fan cannot blow it out.

right off the bat, i would suspect a bad power adapter for the computer. or perhaps a faulty computer. your best bet is to call toshiba and talk to them directly.

My battery won't charge why not

If it's connected properly, that sounds like a dead battery. Try wrapping it in something waterproof and freezing it overnight. If that doesn't work, replace it.

Toshiba satellite laptop will not power on if you plug in the power cord.even you take off the battery. but it will turn on if on battery power. if its runnung already it freezes if you plug in the power...

I would suspect that either your power cord or power adapter is defective.
Try testing using a new power cord/adapter & see if this fixes the problem.

Another possibility might be a loose or defective power connector in the laptop. Check the connector where you plug the power cord. It might need to be re-soldered or replaced.

Toshiba Satellite A105-S4048 problem with AC Adapter When I turn the laptop on with the AC adapter, after checking the BIOS freezes and does not boot Windows. If I turn the laptop in only with battery boot...

There's not much you can do. The problem is definately with your motherboard. I'd recommend a bios update, but normally you can ONLY run a bios update if the battery and the ac are both plugged in.

This problem is pretty common among Toshiba's A105 and P105 models.

Besides replacing the motherboard there's not much you can do.

Sorry.

Zun2200 CardBus freezes Toshiba laptop

Double check with Toshiba.com to see if an updated CardBus driver is available for the Laptop, not the accessory. also look for Chipset and BIOS updates.

Also check out the ZUN220 manufacturer site for a new driver as well.
