Washer. door lock wont lock. I hear a click click, like it's locked, but the indicator lock light is not on, then a couple seconds later I hear another click click like it's unlocking and then an error message appears dE which crossmaps to "door is not closed", but the door is closed tight. I think it's the door lock malfunctioning becaue I had put a bathroom rubber backed rug in to wash and it messed up the rubber seal in front and we put that back on and it was off balance and out away from the wall and the drum must have banged against the door lock when it was flailing about and could have damaged the door lock????

I understand that your door indicates it is open and your washer will not operate. Try resetting the unit by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and turn on the washer. Select a normal cycle, confirmed the latched is securely latched and verify if the washer will start. If the washer will not operate then it possibly have a faulty door lock assembly or a communication problem with the control board. At this point, it would be advisable to contact an experienced appliance repair tech to assist further.

You have a faulty door latch assembly and it will need to be replaced. Here is the part you need.

Your problem is either one of the 2 cases below.

1. Door Locked Indicator...'Keyhole' symbol
The 'Keyhole' symbol will illuminate 2 seconds after you have
pressed the 'START/CANCEL' button and will remain lit
throughout the wash programme.
The 'Keyhole' symbol will be flashing at the end of the
programme to indicate that the door is still locked. When the
symbol goes off you will hear a bleep and the door can then
be opened.

2. If the machine has been child locked, deactivate this feature by pressing and holding in the 'child lock' button for 2 seconds.You will hear a beep and the child lock symbol will go out,allowing you to use the machine normally.

Step1:
If your door hasn't yet locked and will not lock simply press cancel and try again. If this will not work and the cycle still will not start up then skip to step three.

STEP2:
If your door is already locked and you get an "F" error press and hold the cancel button, and select drain/spin. If this still doesn't work and your clothes are trapped inside do not resort to getting out the crow bar and a sledge hammer. (Though you may really feel like doing just that). You can manually unlock the door by following these steps:

- Unplug washer or disconnect power.
- Remove the lower kick panel.
- Reach up along the inside of the front and locate the bottom of the door switch/lock unit.
- Located on the bottom of the door switch/lock unit is a teardrop shaped tab.
- Gently pull the tab down about a 1/4˝ or until a click is heard.
- The door may be now opened.

STEP3:
If your door fails to lock and your cycle will not start moderately but forcefully hit the back right hand corner of the washer with your fist. You may have to do this a couple of times, but your should hear the locking mechanism click so your washer is now locked. After doing this for a couple of times my washer is now working properly for the last 6 months or so. Even if it is not a long term fix it I have used this method very effectively.

Fdl is a code that indicates a door lock error. The clicking sound that you hear is most likely the door lock. This error occurs because the door cannot be locked. The door will try to lock six times before displaying the error code. You have a faulty door lock switch. Hope this helped and best wishes.

Turn the dryer dial to off, making sure you can hear it click off, wait 1 min, and then try door. If it will still not open then you may have faulty door lock, or a prob with the door handle.

First thing to try is some WD 40 on the lock mechanism on the machine. Plug off the wall first. A catch on the mechanism may not be working to indicate that the door is locked to the control panel.

Caution after wash wait for a click in lock area or wait for 3 minutes to open the door; do not force the door.

The "FL" error code indicates that the door is not locking. The buzzing sound you hear is most likely the door lock trying to lock the door. It may only be a matter of aligning the door so that it locks properly. Otherwise, you may have a faulty door lock that needs to be replaced.

there are a couple of screws that you can loosen there to make slight adjustmens an also squirt a little wd 40 in the lock there and see if that helps
