I have been having the same problem. I started to watch the icemaker fill and saw that when water enters the icemaker supply tube (?) it splashes out. My tube, and presumably yours too, is only semi-circled or half-mooned in shape with the top of the tube being open. As the water enters, the stream straightener doesn't appear to correct the turbulence and water will splash out. Over time, this water seems to be the issue. I just applied "shrink tubing" over the ice maker supply tube and hope that I fixed the problem. Now, I need to watch out for ice freezing in the tube.
