Sharp LCD TV LC37D40U white and blue colored lines all over the screen

I have LC37D40U for 1.5 years.
Yesterday white and blue colored lines(composed from small squares) appeared all over the screen.Initially they formed stair like patterns from both sides of screen(when there is no signal) but when there is channel with video signal it is covering all the screen.
It still showing the colorful picture but covered with flickering lines
It doesn't have this problem on setup screens - no lines everything clear.
Could you please tell me what could be the reason of this problem and how expensive it will be to repair it

Sometimes when I turn the tv on there are white and blue lines on the entire screen.. The buttons on both the tv itself and the remote won't work, you have to physically unplug it for a minute or so and then turn it back on and it is fine. Sometimes the show is beneath the lines and sometimes it is just the lines. Makes me nervous as we have had this tv for only about 1.5 years.

SOURCE: TV No Picture

My 32D40U would turn on for 5-10 seconds (Please Wait would appear) and the screen would go black. Sound Normal. It would also sometimes do this after running 5-10 minutes. I read somewhere that the inverter board would come loose and lose proper ground. I took the set apart, removed the board, and cleaned up the grounding points. I reassembled using some copper paste on the ground points and LockTite on the screws. I used some contact cleaner on all the connectors going to the board. I noticed two cables that are covered with copper shield tape where too tight at their connectors and repositioned the tape to give them some slack. The problem hasn't occurred since the fix.

SOURCE: Sharp aquos has green and white vertical lines

You must contact a svc co. This is a upper or lower buffer board problem and possibly a control board. Nothing you have done wrong, it just happened.

Color lines running down the screen

That can be caused by either the Tcon or the panel itself may have an issue. The TCon is most likely though. Your audio works correct right? I would try a new TCon you can get them from www.tvrepairworld.com

Discolored Sides

Hi,Yes your problem sounds like the DMD board. This is how it works: http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/dlp1.htm Basically the light of the lamp goes through a tunnel that carries a color wheel(rotating disc with a gamma of colors that creates the colors on your tv)then the light of the lamp goes through the DMD board which is a chip composed of around 2 million pixels that creates the images and colors. When it starts to fail it will create black bars, pixelation, color distortion or white dots on screens.Ths if your tv is a dlp if its a Lcd it will be an issue with your light engine: Here's how your tv works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLLHnQ4y-wo Basically there's 3 LCD chips that create the colors and image by blending together. When these chips start to melt you will get those blue spots, pixilation even vertical lines. You will need to replace the light engine. Have a blessed one!

Westinghouse LCD TV - broad vertical green and blue lines

try to go to the factory reset and see if that helps. If not, you can then check your connection. if you use component (red, green and blue for video and red and white for audio), make sure all the color matches when you plug it in. if everything have been checked then you need to replace the main board and it should correct the problem.
