Acer X193w screen turns on for about 3 seconds then goes black. The Acer logo appears, there is a 'no signal' message in a grey box, then the screen goes black and the light on the monitor turns orange. Is this the screen or the computer?

Select the input channel for your Fire TV - Turn on your TV and select the input channel for the HDMI port you used to connect your Fire TV. You should then see a loading screen with the Amazon Fire TV logo 4.
Apparently your Acer cannot find the operating system. As soon as the Acer logo comes up, there should appear in one of the bottom corners "F" & a number should appear. Immediately start pressing that F number (top row of keyboard). This should take you to a boot screen. Scroll down to boot sequence. Hit enter. Make sure boot-up sequence is CD or floppy drive first, second should be HDD, then escape. Restart computer. Should then boot off CD drive. I am assuming you have an operating system (XP, windows, etc.). Let me know if this doesn't work.
Does your monitor go black because it went to sleep, does it turn off? Do you have any lights on the monitor to indicate what it is doing?
Also I would boot into safe made by rebooting the computer & tapping F8 when the bios appears. You should be prompted with several options, one of which is "Safe Mode". Choose this & report how the monitor behaves.
Normally when you don't plug a monitor into your computer but just into the wall socket then you should get a No Signal message displayed. If the monitor is behaving erratically then it's not a good sign. Try plugging the monitor into your PC as well and see if it still keeps switching on and off.
I see many monitor with that trouble.
When you turn on comp., you can have a picture on monitor about 10-30 min. and that go in black screen, or If you change resolution again go in black screen.
You must repair monitor or bay another.
sounds like a video card issue. Check the screen on another computer. If it is doing the same thing, it is the monitor. If it doesn't, then you have a video card issue
