I would suggest going to an Apple store if there is one near you, and they can take a look at it and see if they can fix it. If they can't, they can replace it with a new one, assuming it is still under warranty.
you can go to www.apple.com/retail to find a store near you and book an appoinment.
hope this helps!

How old is the battery ipod batteries can only be recharged a certain ammount of times before they need replacing
If an iPod appears not to turn on, check the hold switch on the device. If this switch is activated while the device is off, it will not power on again until the hold switch is turned off.
If that is determined not to be the problem, the battery's charge should be checked. When the battery is no longer holding a charge, the device will not power on, but will show a battery icon on the screen for a few seconds. If you see this icon while trying to boot up the iPod, just connect it to the USB cable and allow the battery to charge, which can sometimes take up to 30 minutes before the iPod becomes operable again.
If no battery icon appears when trying to turn on the device, try resetting the iPod. Once reset, the device should turn on, but if it does not, the battery may need to be drained first (by leaving the iPod disconnected from power for up to 24 hours), and the reset procedure tried again. hope this helps
This may not be the answer you are looking for but your I pod might not be fully charged, meaning that you are not plugging it in the computer/docking system long enough.( it takes much longer than 15 minutes to charge the battery. So you might want to plug it in/dock it over night) Or you may be playing a game that uses a lot of MB/GB so it kills the battery. And make sure that you press the play/pause button down for at least five seconds before switching the little switch at the top of your I pod. If you don't press the play/pause button for five seconds and just switch the switch at the top a little lock will appear on the left corner meaning you need to hold the play/pause button down for five seconds then the i pod screen goes black at that time flick the switch at the top off.

owner of i pod nano and I pod touch.
you are still under warranty...take it to the sony apple store...they will fix it /replace it or tell you there is cost if it not the battery (note do not tell them you charged overnight, and for the future do chage any gadgets more than 3-4 hrs) when you do charge over night you are actually shorten the battery life span or overcharge....so as soon as you come home from school, work, whatever cell/ipod or any other device needs to be charge...charge it now and unplug before you go to bed....
This is because the cable that connects new battery to iPod is either damaged, or has come loose...
Take it back to whoever performed the replacement... Or, I can walk you through the repair myself, but you will need a VERY thin flat-head screwdriver (like the kind in glasses repair kits).
P.S I GUARANTEE this is your solution... I'd stake my iPod on it.
Hi I think your battery may be going bad or you need to purchase a wall charger to fully charge your battery. Charging your iPod on your computer works fine for a while, but as the battery gets older, it needs more charging and often it doesn't get enough from the computer. Try a wall charger first. Charge it all the way up until it stops charging. If it still shows a low battery you need to have a new battery. There are a lot of places that can do it. Hope that helps.
Have you tried holding down the menu button and the middle circle button?
first place your ipos somewhere flat and press down the circle button and the menu button, make sure your not touching any other part of the click wheel.hold them down for about 5 seconds untill the apple logo appears.then let go,and it should be back to normal.you can use this procedure any time that it freezes or stops working.Hope fully that should fix your problem.if not i suggest you get it repaired under your warrenty.
Good Luck.
