115 volt equals how many btu

Apples and oranges.
The 115 volts tells what "quantity" of electricity is needed to run the unit.
BTU's are the cooling capacity of the unit, which usually is about 5,000 for the smallest, up to about 18,000 for the largest.
Over 18,000 the electricity quantity is often boosted to 220 volts because of the larger size of the unit.

It depends on how long the cord is. you should never put a unit on an extension cord.

I have a dometic rv unit 15000 btu what is the amp draw?

For an RV 15000 BTU air conditioner the size being maximum for 115 volts ac you will need to have a independent circuit breaker for it only and rated at 20 amps. The average amps depends on serveral factors like actual supply voltage somtimes 110 to 120 volts and wire size and length feeding the air conditioner. To answer your question the average Amps will be near 13 Amps. Click Here=>

Bought a used coleman 15,000 btu with heat pump. The wiring harness came seperately and I don,t see a place on the unit to wire it in. The wire diagram shows 24volt control but there is no transformer in...

You'll need the ceiling assembly and control box to operate it properly, or at the very least a ceiling assembly with mechanical controls. The ceiling assembly is where you will run your 110 volt, and depending on what set-up you choose, the wiring etc, relays and transformers will be determined by that. I assume you didn't get the ceiling assembly with it? Here's a link to wiring diagrams etc and service manuals to help you understand what and where to go with it. Model number should be on it, just go to proper info pertaining to your model.

Hitachi RAS-10C2M. What size of air conditioner

If the number you say is the model number, it appears to be a 10,000 BTU.Check on the sides of the unit, or inside where the air comes out, and it should give the numbers. It should say 5000 to1800 BTU, if it is a 110 volt unit. BTU is what you are looking for if you want the output, not HP.

Just put in a new ac unit and replaced a old one. old unit was 18000 btu and the new one is on 12,000 btu I used the same power outlet but the new ac unit starts up but then shuts down and seems like it is...

The 18,000 btu A/C is 230 volts, are you sure the 12,000 btu unit is 230 volts most are 120 volts.
Usually 12,000 btu is the biggest 120 volt A/C you can buy.

Circuit breaker

Happy to assist,

HOW MANY BTU IS THE AIR CONDITIONER?
And is it 110 or 220 line!

If it is using 110 or 115 volts like normal house current and it throws circuit breakers in your electric box, then you need to run a dedicated line just for the Air Conditioner!
Usually this happens to 110 -115 volt air-conditioners that are more than 12,000 BTU and do not have a dedicated electric line in the wall only for the air conditioner!

New air conditioners have a circuit breaker built into the units plug!
And I have seen some that throw that breaker to off frequently even if it's only an electric surge! Which it should not do!
if its the case and it's new, take it back to the store and ask for a different model, size, or brand!
Fedders had an 18,000 BTU/ 110-115 volt unit that did this with every single unit last year! I stopped selling that unit only!!
