On the back of the JVC receiver, there should be a TV input, Coax IN and OUT or AUX input (I don't remember if this model had HDMI). On the back of your TV, there should be an AUDIO OUT, connect this to either the TV or AUX inputs and make sure on your TV, to set the Audio Out is On in the TV menu. Turn on JVC and set input to TV and adjust volume. Another way is using the COAX input and outputs. Connect Output of cable box to Input of JVC, then connect Output of TV to Input on TV.
Unfortunately, there is a limitation on the JVC LT47P789 digital optical audio out. This audio output does not get the signal from any HDMI source. This is described on page 49 of the user manual. The manual is available from JVC here: http://resources.jvc.com/Resources/00/01/14/YA653ien.pdf . There is a similar restriction for the analog audio output from the TV with the HDMI inputs.
If you use the component audio/video inputs on the TV from your set-top cable box and DVD player, then the optical audio output will work. Otherwise, you need to find a way to connect the audio directly to the receiver. Some receivers have multiple HDMI input ports. These then forward the video signal on their HDMI output to the TV. Another option is to connect the analog audio outputs from the cable box and DVD player to the receiver. This may require resetting the Audio output from these set-top boxes to keep from sending the audio over the HDMI cable. With the Cinemate, you might need some sort of audio input switch or an HDMI converter and switch that separates the audio from the video signal.
I hope this helps. Please add a comment with more information about your devices for ideas on how to work-around the problem with this JVC TV.
does it have HDMI INPUT/OUTPUT? OR Audio video input/output? First you must have a cable for either of those two. HDMI (from the lcd tv) to HDMI (vcr/dvd combo).
audio/video input (from the lcd) to audio/video output (from the vcr).
hope this helps.
the tv has a configaration that conveys the sets focus on both audio and video performance. full hd resolution of 1920-1080 pixels.
hdmi inputs allow connection of the generation of 1080p sources for the systems which offer 1080p outputs
JVC may allow warranty exception or some accomodation for 15 days out. You have 2 seperate issues
1. White lines spreading is probably a video process problem. I think this TV has 3 Boards inside. Middle one is most likely suspect followed by the one on the Right
2. HDMI input not working is because they were turned OFF. JVC TV's have a sensor that will shut off the HDMI if the TV's back cover is removed. This must be reset in the Service Menu.
Anytime an LCD has a shade of pink, that means the CCFL lamps are about to go out. Now that you have a black screen, I'd say you just need some new bulbs.
