My LG shine does not alert me when I receive txt messages. how can I change that?

open 'profiles'. It will be inside ;menu' or 'settings' option. after selecting profiles, select 'personalize' and chose the new message alert tone from your gallary.... after that activate your profile.. your ringtone has been changed

Go to message settings then you just have to click on tone that will do it from there

just go to the settings and change the tones on message alerts

make sure you have "txt messages" set to ring/vibe not "calls to line 1 ring/vibe"

You CAN set a song as your text alert tone. Here are the steps:
1- Go to: Settings> Profiles>
2- Select your options (e.g. normal, vibrate and ring, etc....)
3- select Options> Customize (2)>
4- Highlight "Message Sound" and select Options> Customize (2),
5- Then browse to the folder your song or sound is in (e.g. audio) and select the file you want to use and save it.

I noticed that the songs have to be under 30 seconds to use as any type of alert tone for calls or texts.

sorry but with the shine you can not customize the ringtone or msg.

how do I change message tones on LG Shine?

I think that there is just a generic message alert tone setting applies for both vm and text. If your voicemail alert tone and message alert tones are the same, this is probably the case. I have searched the menu on my phone and haven't found any setting to change vm tone specifically.

check out this tutorial on youtube it will allow you to set your own mp3's a ringtones and you should be able to do the same for message alerts.

You can go into sounds and set alert tone for txt message so it will souns a tone
