My BMW R1200RT WILL TURN OVER AND RUNS FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS THEN SLOWLY DIES LIKE IT IS STARVED OF FUEL; IF YOU TWIST THE THROTTEL IT REVS UP THEN DIES STRAIGHT AWAY. Is it muck in the fuel line or is it somthing more serious.

SOURCE: motorcycle fault

Check for a blockage in the fuel tank vent.
Run with the fuel cap cracked open - if it runs fine, try and work out where the vent is blocked.

SOURCE: I have a 2003 BMW 325CI, when i go to start it, it

First thing to check is the fuel pressure, there is a scrader valve under the black fuel rail cover to the right of the valve cover, just pop off the small circle and take off the 10mm screw. Hook up a a fuel pressure guage, then turn the key to the start postion and check the guage. there should be about 3.5 bar of pressure (50psi). If it doesnt build up it could be the fuel pump of a clogged fuel filter. If all this is good, then it may be a bad mass air flow sensor.

look for bad grounds in the ignition circuit.the corrosion is creating a voltage drop, but time and heat decrease the resistance..

SOURCE: BMW R 1150 R surging

Bad choke or stuck butterfly valve in carb. Could also be in need of valve adjustment. The only other reason would be because the timing is off.

Chainsaw wont stay running Runs 30sec to about 1 1/2 min seems to be starved for fuel

Initial carb setting is 1 full turn out on both low and high side and retry. If no difference, then turn the low side out and additional 1/4 to 1/2 turn CCW. If that makes no difference, then it's time for a carburetor rebuild.

I AM RESTORING A T020 MF. I REPLACED ALL WIRING AND IGNITION SYSTEM AND REBUILT THE CARBURATOR, AND ADJUSTED IT TO SPECS. I GOT IT TO START RIGHT AWAY AND IT SOUNDS GREAT. HOWEVER, IT WILL ONLY RUN FOR...

Ok a quick check. When the engine cuts out and you go for restart it dies within 5 seconds. Next time put the ignition at position 2 (on but not starting) and wait one minute, then start the car. If the engine again runs for 30 seconds before cutting off this tells you its is a fuel problem. If the fuel is supplied slowly it fills the carburettor fuel bowls and when the car starts it quickly uses up these local reservoirs of fuel faster than they can be replenished. When you try to restart immediately there is only a tiny amount of fuel and so it used up almost immediately. By leaving the ignition on 2 for while it gives the pump time to fill the carburettor bowls and this takes a while longer to run down when the engine starts. Just before moving on does the car have a choke OK remove the low tension connection to the coil, basically remove any chance of a spark. Put a big old towel around the carb. Now remove the fuel line at the carburettor and put ignition on 2 to engage the starter pump. Listen to pump operation and look at the rate of fuel being pushed from the disconnected fuel pipe. If the flow is slow check on pump and filters.

Saw starts and runs for a few seconds (while warm) then dies like starved for fuel. Will restart with choke, but does same thing again. Sometimes it will run for a few seconds longer at full throttle, but...

Air filter clean?
Air filter port set for summer or winter ?
Check the fuel filter inside the tank to ensure that it is not dirty or hasn't fallen off.

Nitro rc car

Check that your fuel tank is fully sealed as fuel is pumped through it via exhaust pressure, other wise check the fuel lines/carby aren't blocked. You may also have too much fuel, as it would build up and stall your car in a few seconds. Try a pinch test: start car then pinch the fuel line near the carby, if it revs a fair bit harder then stops- could be to rich, if it doesn't rev any different before it stops it's too lean and needs more fuel.
