Model C2680 All-in-one. Have been editing/printing photos etc. work completed and PC shut down. Re-opened PC and selected WEbsite through internet. Tried to print text on PC screen. Printer kept...
its called a print JOB, and is a FEATURE, even DOS had it.
some users actually do not want to lose that job or data. so....
is a FEATURE, not a bug at all. (keeping data is job one)
watch the movie Patriot games see this is action, printing a deleted fail. shows just how this works.
you need to study how print QUEUES.
work.,
there are 2 of them, aka as BUFFERS to geeks and programmers.
one is the windows print queues.
and the other is insided the printer.
(Wbuff1) >>>> (Pbuff2) >>>>printing engine.
worst case,
if the printer say died, or ran out of ink MID STRIDE
then unplug the AC power to printer.
guess what it forgets all JOBS now. gon
but next (keep printer unplugged)
see your task bar.
no OS stated by you.
See that print ICON there, that Sir is the W10 , print buffer.
QUEUE. first in , first out queue.
if you click it you can delete any JOB (or or more)
I have 2 printers here, both HP top printers.
one has X button on top the empties the printers buffer only..
on that printer, i kill the w10 buffer job first then push X button on the printer
boom data gone. (to the BYTE BUCKet in the sky)
or as we said long ago, data fell on the floor.
that is how it works, and can be a pain.
we had printers, off say 1000' feet from users.
we had room full of 20 printers (and radial types). and magic printer server there.
killing jobs there was near impossible.
yah, run like H3LL.
the get it finished then reprint the 1 mangled page is say 100 printed.
back in the old days DOS? (even RXS-11m or uVAX, or CPM)
we unplugged the printer
then went to the dos folder for queued files and deleted them.
Btw WINDOWs STILL likes to mess up here,!
sometimes clicking the task bar, print icon then canceling the job fails.
in that case , google how to fix that. at microsoft dot com,
it's there like 1,000,000 posts.
endless for over 25 years.
ask how, can google for you , sure.
