After having been in safe waterproof storage during cyclone season I,ve unwrapped my korg pa 500 and plugged it in but it doesn,t boot up .The sreen is lit well with simply "Korg" displayed.I've turned it on and off a few times but same result. have tried pressing a few buttons ...same screen display. This unit has not been abused at all in fact has been simply in safe storeage and not in use for the last 4 months and it was fine back then. Anythind i can do at home or is this a service job. i have korg pa 50 fd when i turn on the power on screen says korg pa 50 only thing work just piano that is it my menu all freez to download the floppy disk is any body has any idea thanks

Have you tried it with batteries? Are you sure the power supply is working correctly? It should not need the OS to operate as a keyboard disconnected from the computer.

The cable connection is just a MIDI cable that uses opto-isolators so the 2 items are electrically isolated from each other. The software driver for the Korg should load without problem. The Korg program itself may be looking for inputs that are not there when the keyboard is off and the program itself reaches a stop command.

If the PA80 will not work on just the power supply- the power supply can be the fault- it has an internal fuse. Finding a similar supply with the same coaxial plug wired the same polarity is the way to test it if the battery option is not available.

Do a factory reset. Refer to your manual or use google to find the procedure.

Many of these pedal have more than switches. Some use resistors as part of a matrix. The chances of success are only 50-50 unless you rewire the FC01 to be exactly the same as the EC5.
