I did download the manual, however I have the Deluxe Electronic Temperature Control; and it states to refer to the electronics Control Guide supplied, which I cannot find online.

  • lindsayborgm Jun 13, 2011

I have tried this, but nothing changes. I have also unplugged the machine and pushed all of the buttons, and nothing happens.

  • lindsayborgm Jun 13, 2011

The only buttons on the freezer are Quick Freeze, up and down arrows, and Reset/Alarm buttons.

  • lindsayborgm Jun 13, 2011

    THANK YOU!!! It worked!

OFF indicates that the Temperature Control is switched Off.

Pressing the Up or Down Buttons should change the display back to the Temperature Display and allow you to set the required Temperature.

It sounds like its been switched into what they call Sabbath Mode which turns everything off but the compressor. Try pressing and holding the Control Lock & Temp Display buttons together for 3 seconds.

  • Anonymous Jun 13, 2011

OK, So the control are as shown in the User & Care Guide and not the Electronics Control Guide, but from the Electronics Control Guide is states. -

  • Anonymous Jun 13, 2011

So although your controls are those shown in the User & Care Guide, in the Electronics Control Guide it states. - You may also turn off the freezer by pressing the UP arrow
button until the display reads "10". With the display at "10', press the Up Arrow button two more times within two seconds. The display will read "OF". The freezer can be turned ON by pressing the DOWN arrow button, with the display -10, two times within two seconds. Continue by setting the control to the desired temperature.

That means that the frezer is off. You need to set the frezer on a temp to turn on. You can get the manualon the link below.

Does Kenmore Elite upright freezer reach -20 degrees celsius, where is the info?

Hi,

Best way I can answer this is to purchase the right equipment for the job. A domestic freezer is not designed to work like that, although it may get there in temp it won't hold it. Recovery is slower then the industrial unit you seek. Domestic unit warranties are void if used for commercial settings (i.e. lunch rooms, offices, lab's, etc...) I wish I had a better answer for you but if you need a specific temperature get the correct equipment for the job. Good Luck

Hello Michael - Sounds like the temperature control was accidently turned OFF. When this occurs the temperature control turns off the compressor, but does not disconnect the power to the light bulb or other electronics. Let's try activating the freezer by pressing the UP arrow until display shows "4" or desired setting. Allow 24 hours for temperature to stabilize. For future reference you can lock the control to keep from accidently changing the temperature setting. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if the unit's status has changed successfully. Thank you.

I have a 2007 model 253.264 upright Kenmore self-defrosting freezer. The control panel on the front door stopped working. No temperature reading and no way to adjust controls. The freezer is still

I have one out in the yard that is doing the very same thing. Works good but the door display is out. I looked underneath and all of the wires seem to be connected. The main control board is on the bottom as well. The battery is also new. You must have a broken wire between that control and the main board below. I imagine it has something to do the the connector that goes through the door.

Kenmore® (46-26072) Elite® 20.6-Cu. Ft. Frost-Free White Upright Freezer

Check these two things first.  1.  Is there a thick frost buildup on the back panel at the bottom half of the freezer?  2.  Do you hear the fan running inside the freezer?  Let me know what you find.
